अर्की के विधायक संजय अवस्थी ने कहा कि मेले एवं त्यौहार हमारी समृद्ध संस्कृति के परिचायक हैं। संजय अवस्थी गत रात्रि राज्य स्तरीय सायरोत्सव मेले की प्रथम सांस्कृतिक संध्या का शुभारम्भ करने के उपरांत उपस्थित जनसमूह को सम्बोधित कर रहे थे।

अपने सम्बोधन में पठानियां ने कहा कि राष्ट्रमण्डल का औपचारिक गठन 1949 के लंदन धोषणापत्र के बाद आधुनिक रूप में हुआ है। इसके बाद अनेक देशों ने शामिल होकर इसे एक व्यापक वैश्विक संगठन का रूप दिया। आज राष्ट्रमण्डल में अफ्रीका, एशिया, यूरोप, अमेरिका, कैरेबियन और प्रशांत क्षेत्र के देश शामिल है। भारत राष्ट्रमण्डल का एक महत्वपूर्ण सदस्य है।

The meeting was attended by Col. Sanjeev Sahi, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), along with officials from the NDRF and Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) through video conferencing. Senior officers of the Chandigarh Administration, including Dr. Inderjeet, HCS, Chief Fire Officer, senior officers of Fire & Emergency Services, and Dy. SP Sita Devi along with Chandigarh Police officials, also participated.
