Theft

Harjit Singh Dhillon R/o # 76, Sector-11, Chandigarh reported that an unknown person stole Farrata Fan from his residence on the night intervening 28/29-05-2023. A case FIR No. 88, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Quarrel/ Assault

A case FIR No. 89, U/S 323, 324 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh on the complaint of a boy (age-16 yrs) resident of Chandigarh who alleged that a boy resident of Sector 25, Chandigarh (Age 17 years) quarreled and stabbed complainant at Mandi Road, Sector-25, Chandigarh on 30.05.2023. Complainant sustained injuries and admitted to GH-16, Chandigarh. Later alleged person apprehended and sent to juvenile home. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Cheating

A case FIR No. 58, U/S 419, 420, 120-B IPC has been registered in PS-Cyber Crime, Chandigarh on the complaint of Manohar Thapa R/o # 6768/C, Sector-56, Chandigarh who reported that unknown person called on mobile phone of complainant and cheated Rs. 23,993/- from his bank account regarding wave-off of annual fee of his RBL credit card on 18.05.2023. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 59, U/S 419, 420, 120-B IPC has been registered in PS-Cyber Crime, Chandigarh on the complaint of Rajat Sharma R/o # 1254/3, Sector-30B, Chandigarh who reported that unknown person sent whatsapp messages and link of telegram ids where complainant was cheated of total Rs. 1,33,000/- for investment in crypto currency on 11.04.2023. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 66, U/S 420 IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh on the complaint of a lady resident of Sector-28, Chandigarh who reported that unknown person withdrawn Rs. 95,000/- from her Bank account at PNB, Sector 28, Chandigarh by doing forged signature on forged cheque on 30.05.2023. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

A case FIR No. 62, U/S 279, 338 IPC has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh on the complaint of Sukhwinder Singh R/o Village-Dera Mir Meran, Distt-Fatehgarh Sahib (PB) who alleged that driver of Mahindra Pick-up (Sanjeev Kumar’s vehicle) had hit the complainant at Village Dariya, Chandigarh on 04.11.2022. Complainant got injuries and was admitted in GMCH-32, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

An one day workshop on “NDPS Act, 1985, Identification, Classification and Types of Narcotics Drugs & Psychotropic substances & use of latest Equipments, Test Kit for Drug Detection” was organized at Recruit Training Centre, Sector-26, Chandigarh in association with the NCB, Chandigarh.

Today, under the guidance of Sh. Praveer Ranjan, IPS, DGP/UT, Chandigarh and under the supervision of Sh. Ketan Bansal, IPS, SP/HQrs. & Training/U.T Chandigarh, an one day workshop on “NDPS Act, 1985, Identification, Classification and Types of Narcotics Drugs & Psychotropic substances & use of latest Equipments, Test Kit for Drug Detection” was organized at Recruit Training Centre, Sector-26, Chandigarh in association with the NCB, Chandigarh. Total 105 Chandigarh Police personnel attended this training program. Mr. Syed Sharique Omar, Intelligence Officer, NCB, Chandigarh delivered the lecture to the participants and explained the specifics and techniques to be adopted during the investigation of NDPS Cases. He answered the various queries raised by the participants. Ms. Jaswinder Kaur, DSP/Training also interacted with the participants and motivated them to improve their investigation skills. This workshop ended with the feedback session and the feedback given by the participants was excellent. Issued
