CHANDIGARH.16.02.23- Maharishi Dayanand Sarswati’s 200th birthday was celebrated by Kendriya Arya Sabha, Chandigarh, Panchkula & Mohali at Arya Samaj, Sector 7-B, Chandigarh. A grand Shobha Yatra was organised to mark the 200th birth anniversary of Swami Dayanand. Mayor of Chandigarh Municipal Corporation Anoop Gupta flagged off this procession by showing Om flag. Swami Sampurnanand Saraswati presided over this program.
It was started from Arya Samaj, Sector 7B and passing through sectors 8, 18 and 19, concluded at Arya Samaj, Sector 27 Chandigarh. The D.A.V. educational institutions and Arya Samajs of Chandigarh, Panchkula, Mohali, Derabassi, Ropar, and Surajpur participated in it with full zeal and zest. The soldiers of Swami Dayanand speciallly girls were riders on decorated horses show the women empowerment, led the Shobha Yatra.
The life of Swami Dayanand Sarswati, Vedas, yajna, patriotism, arya traditions, environmental purity, children with small flags bearing Aum, distribution of vedic literature and a large number of vehicles of different models made the Shobha Yatra more remarkable.

Before the conclusion of the program, Sampurnanand Saraswati addressed all the people present. He said that it is a sacred task to take the works, thoughts and teachings of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati to the masses. He said that Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati spread the hymns of the Vedas to the masses.

Kendriya Arya Sabha President Ravinder Talwar thanked the dignitaries present. Principal RC Jeevan, Madhu Behl, Lalita Talwar, Prakash chander Sharma, Dr. Vinod Kumar, Hardeep Grewal, Raj Sandhu, Bop Saroya, Gurpreet Chahal, Jaswinder Singh, Pawan Paul, Dharamveer Batra, Dr. Ajay Gupta, Pooja Prakash, C,P. Gandhi, Dr. B.P.T. Malik Upender Arya, Raghunath Rai Monika were present on the occasion. Paliwal, Dr. Rosy Sharma etc. were also present. Principals and teachers of schools and colleges were also present during the programme. Rishi Langar was also served at the end of the yatra. Representatives of Arya Samaj and DAV institutions of tricity also graced the occasion.
