Chandigarh, September 27, 2026:As part of the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ being conducted by the Bharatiya Janata Party Chandigarh Pradesh to mark the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a two-day Mega Health Camp was successfully organised on September 26 and 27 at Dhanas Char Manzil Colony, Small Flats.
The health camp was organised under the directions of BJP Chandigarh Pradesh President Jatinder Pal Malhotra, under the leadership of BJP Medical Cell President Lalit Takiar, and under the supervision and guidance of Medical Cell In-charge Dr. Sanjeev Bhatia.
During the two-day camp, around 1,300 patients received free health check-ups. Various health services, including blood sugar, blood pressure, bone mineral density, DEXA Scan and eye examinations, were provided. In particular, the DEXA Scan and Mammography Van of GMCH-32 conducted DEXA Scan and Mammography examinations for around 140 people.
Doctors and medical staff from GMCH-32 and Government Multi-Specialty Hospital, Sector 16, Chandigarh, extended valuable support during the camp. After medical consultation, free medicines were distributed to needy patients, while several patients were also provided medicines free of cost for up to three months.
During eye examinations, nearly 50 patients were found to require cataract surgery. The responsibility for their surgery will be undertaken by Bharatiya Janata Party Chandigarh Pradesh, ensuring that financial constraints do not prevent needy patients from receiving treatment.
During the health camp, around 300 patients were found to have significantly high blood sugar levels. Several of them came to know about their diabetes for the first time. The patients were provided necessary medical advice and guidance regarding further investigations and treatment.
The Medical Cell team also sensitised local residents about the importance of a healthy lifestyle, regular health check-ups and timely medical treatment. A large number of local residents participated in the camp and availed themselves of the free health services.
Deepak Pathak, Dr. Meena Chadha, Vikas Bansal, Anu Singla, Rajesh Singla, Raghav, Abhineet, Inder Dev Sharma and District Convenor Sanjay Arora, along with the entire BJP Medical Cell team, made an active contribution to the successful organisation of the camp.
