Chandigarh, 30.08.26Under the able guidance and supervision of Prof. (Mrs.) Rintu Khanna, head, Electrical Engineering department, PEC, and the other senior faculty members, Prof. Sandeep Kaur, Prof. Sulata Bhandari, a hands on workshop was organized for the awareness and orientation of a group of students of Sehajjot Public School, Sector - 14W, Chandigarh.

The theme of the workshop was, “Fundamentals of Household Appliances: Concept, Working, and Hands-on”

The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from the school students.

The workshop commenced with an inaugural session, followed by an informative address by the faculty members. The students were introduced to the basic concepts, working principles, and safe usage of common household electrical appliances. They were also familiarised with the importance of star ratings, energy conservation, and efficient use of electricity.

The students then visited the Electrical circuits laboratory, where they observed the functioning of electrical appliances and participated in hands-on experiments involving basic electrical circuits and components.

The practical activities provided them with an opportunity to connect theoretical concepts with real-world applications.

The workshop successfully enhanced the students’ understanding of household electrical appliances, electrical safety concepts, and the energy-efficient practices, while encouraging their interest in practical learning and electrical engineering.
