Chandigarh, August 26:- Taking a serious view of negligence in the discharge of official duties and failure to ensure basic civic amenities at the Vending Zone, Sector 53, Sh. Amit Kumar, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation today ordered the suspension of four officials with immediate effect.
The action follows serious lapses in ensuring the provision and maintenance of basic amenities at the vending zone, reflecting negligence in the performance of assigned responsibilities.
The Commissioner ordered the suspension of Sh. Rajbir Singh, SDE, holding additional charge of Executive Engineer, MCPH Division No. 4; Sh. Parag Raveesh, JE, holding charge of Sub-Divisional Engineer; and Sh. Gurpreet Singh, holding charge of Junior Engineer, for negligence in duty.
In a separate action, Sh. Avtar Goraya, Enforcement Inspector, was also placed under suspension for negligence in performing his assigned duties.
The Commissioner made it clear that negligence, dereliction of duty and failure to ensure public amenities will be viewed seriously and strict disciplinary action will follow.
