A case FIR No. 93 u/s 317(2) BNS has been registered at Police Station-26, Chandigarh against Aadil Khan S/o Mohd. Hanif, R/o #258, PH-1, BDC, Sector-26, Chandigarh. It has been alleged that on 18.07.2026, the accused was found in possession of a red-coloured Activa scooter bearing registration No. CH-01BF-9699, which had been stolen from the back side parking of Elante Mall, Phase-I Industrial Area, Chandigarh. The accused was arrested and lodged in police lock-up. Investigation of the case is in progress.
One arrested using a fake number plate
A case FIR No. 111 u/s 341(2) BNS has been registered at Police Station-31, Chandigarh on the complaint of ASI Anil Kumar No. 3236/CP against Sumit S/o Sanjay, R/o Village Uchana Kalan, District Jind (Haryana), aged 28 years. It has been alleged that on 18.07.2026 at about 12:26 AM, the accused was apprehended near Airport Light Point, Chandigarh, while using a fake number plate DL-8CBC-8219 on his Maruti Swift Dzire. The original registration number of the vehicle was PB-01C-3533. The accused was arrested and later released on bail.
Theft
A case FIR No. 74 u/s 305, 331(4) BNS has been registered at Police Station Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh on the complaint of Sh. Mandeep R/o #232, 39-West Colony, Sector-122, Mohali (Punjab). The complainant alleged that an unknown person stole one mobile phone, various clothes, watches, perfumes and cash amounting to ₹10,000/- from his shop No. 1544/2, Main Market, Mani Majra, Chandigarh on 17.07.2026. No arrest has been made so far. Investigation of the case is in progress.
A case FIR No. 113 u/s 305, 331 BNS has been registered at Police Station-36, Chandigarh against unknown person who committed theft from the house of Sh. Ali Hussain S/o #602, Village Kajheri, Chandigarh, between 16.06.2026 and 05.07.2026. The stolen property included two mangalsutras, rings, earrings, 800 grams of silver ornaments and cash amounting to ₹10,000/-. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 104 u/s 318(4), 319(2), 336(3), 338, 340(2), 61(2) BNS has been registered at the Cyber Crime Police Station, Chandigarh on the complaint of Sh. Ashok Kumar Sharma, R/o #3042, HBC, Dhanas, Chandigarh. The complainant alleged that an unknown person cheated him of ₹4,50,000/- by fraudulently impersonating one of his acquaintances. Investigation of the case is in progress.
