Chandigarh, May 14:- The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh today carried out a special anti-encroachment drive across various prominent sectors of the city, including Sectors 15, 20, 22, 34 and 35, to ensure smooth movement of pedestrians and maintain public convenience.
During the drive, enforcement teams removed unauthorized encroachments from market areas, pavements and public corridors. Special attention was given to clearing the corridors in Sector 22 Mobile Market to facilitate hassle-free movement for visitors and shopkeepers.
The drive was conducted by the enforcement wing of MCC with the objective of keeping public spaces free from illegal occupation and ensuring strict compliance with civic regulations. During the operation, action was also taken against illegal vendors operating in the above-mentioned sectors.
A total of 65 challans were issued to violators for unauthorized vending and encroachment of public spaces. MC to conduct such enforcement drives regularly to maintain cleanliness, order and ease of movement in city markets.
