Chandigarh, May 7, 2026:The Government Rehabilitation Institute for Intellectual Disabilities (GRIID), Sector 31, Chandigarh, conducted a special Common Yoga Protocol training session for its staff on Day 4 of the ongoing five-day programme being organized in collaboration with the Haryana Yog Aayog ahead of International Day of Yoga 2026.
The training programme, being held from May 4 to 8, aims to promote holistic health, stress management, and overall well-being among professionals engaged in special education. Around 50 staff members participated enthusiastically in the session.
The session commenced with a prayer and included warm-up exercises, yoga asanas, pranayama, meditation, and concluded with the Shanti Path. The activities focused on enhancing physical fitness, mental relaxation, and emotional balance in daily professional life. The sessions are being conducted under the guidance of Ms. Manisha Sharma, Yoga Therapist, and Dr. Jaspreet Kaur from Haryana Yog Aayog.
The programme is being conducted under the guidance of Dr. Ajeet Sidana and Dr. Jaideep Arya, in the presence of Sh. Anil Kumar, Dr. M. Karuppasamy, Dr. Reena Jain, Sh. Vishal Sabhrwal, Sh. Sandeep Sharma, Sh. Shashi Sinha, and Mrs. Sneh Lata.
Addressing the participants, Dr. Ajeet Sidana, Joint Director, GRIID, highlighted the role of yoga in reducing workplace stress and enhancing mental resilience. Sh. Sandeep Sharma emphasized the importance of yoga for special education professionals, stating that regular practice helps develop patience, empathy, and emotional stability. Dr. M. Karuppasamy also spoke about yoga’s role in improving focus, mindfulness, and stress management.
The session was successfully coordinated with the support of Ms. Ashima Sharma, Mr. Romi Kumar, Ms. Kamaldeep Kaur, Ms. Rina Rani, Ms. Priyanka Saini, Ms. Monika Bhandari, and Ms. Meenu Devi.
