CM flags off electric waste collection vehicles in Shimla
- MC Shimla becomes first ULB in state to launch electric waste management fleet
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today flagged off 10 electric waste collection vehicles of the Municipal Corporation Shimla from Himachal Pradesh State Secretariat. With this initiative, the Municipal Corporation Shimla has become the first urban local body in the State to begin converting its fleet into an electric fleet for waste management in a phased manner.
He said that to ensure smooth plying of these vehicles, trial runs were conducted by MC Shimla from 10th to 14th November, 2025 during which the vehicles performed successfully in the terrain and conditions of the city. Each vehicle has a total waste collection capacity of one tonne and has been purchased at the cost of Rs. 13.98 lakh. He said that the charging infrastructure has also been set up at the Municipal Corporation parking facility for efficient and convenient usage. On a full charge each vehicle can travel approximately 130 to 150 kilometers.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister lauded the efforts of the Municipal Corporation Shimla and said that the state government is promoting e-mobility in the state and this has been envisioned in the first budget of the present state government. He said that the state government has taken numerous steps to make Himachal Pradesh a green state of the country and these e-vehicles will go a long way in achieving the goal. He said that the present state government is working meticulously to ensure environmental conservation and the expenditure of MC Shimla will also reduce as the prices of petrol and diesel are increasing day by day.
Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh, Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh, Town and Country Planning Minister Rajesh Dharmani, Principal Advisor (Media) to Chief Minister Naresh Chauhan, Mayor Surender Chauhan, Deputy Mayor Uma Kaushal, councillors and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.

CM congratulates students on success in Plus two examination
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has congratulated all the students who successfully passed the 10+2 examination conducted by Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education Dharamsala, the results of which were declared today.
Appreciating the meritorious students for their outstanding performance, he said that their achievements are the result of consistent hard work and dedication towards their studies. He said that the students should never forget the contribution made by their parents, teachers and well-wishers in guiding and supporting them throughout their academic journey to achieve success.
The Chief Minister encouraged the students and said that there is no shortcut to success in life and it can only be attained through unwavering dedication, sincerity and devotion.

H.P. Pensioners Joint Front call on Chief Minister
A delegation of Himachal Pradesh Pensioner's Joint Front led by its President Atma Ram called on Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu here today and apprised him of various demands of the Front. The delegation also submitted a demand charter to him.
The Chief Minister assured the delegation that their demands would be considered sympathetically. He said that over the past three and a half years, the present state government has taken various measures for the welfare of employees as well as pensioners despite discontinuation of RDG and financial constraints.
He said that the state government has reinstated the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) to 1.36 lakh government employees in the first Cabinet meeting, but the Union Government has stopped financial assistance of Rs. 1600 crore for implementing OPS.
Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that the state government has released the full arrears arising from revision of pay scales of pensioners above the age of 70 years. He further said that the state government has also cleared all the gratuity and leave encashment of Class-IV employees retired between 1st January, 2016 to 31st January, 2022.
Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh, Principal Advisor (Media) to Chief Minister Naresh Chauhan and office bearers of the Front were also present on the occasion.

CM expresses grief over loss of four lives in accident
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has expressed grief over the loss of four lives in a tragic road accident in the Sangrah area of Sirmaur district. He has sought a report on the incident from the district administration.
The Chief Minister conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for peace to the departed souls.
