Key Initiatives and Awareness Activities under Poshan Pakhwada
Chandigarh, April 10, 2026: Under Poshan Pakhwada, various awareness and outreach activities were organized across different centres. An awareness session on the Navchetna framework (0–3 years), along with the importance of maternal nutrition and IYCF practices, was conducted at RC Dhanas-2 with participation of experts, officials, and beneficiaries. The Pakhwada was also celebrated at Dadu Majra and Industrial Area Circles with activities focusing on the role of parents and community in minimizing screen time, along with awareness on daily diet and personal care.
In addition, a series of thematic activities were conducted, including promotion of early breastfeeding, millet-based nutrition for pregnant women, growth monitoring, pre-school education for children (3–6 years), and home visits to promote institutional delivery. Other initiatives included promotion of yoga at home, awareness on millets for health, slogan writing competitions on millets, lectures on immunization, and home visits for SAM/MAM children. Sessions were also held on AYUSH for well-being, food fortification, Poshan ke Panch Sutra, and complementary feeding practices, along with emphasis on introducing millets in early childhood diets.
Further, Poshan helpline sessions are being conducted daily by AYUSH doctors, facilitating direct interaction between doctors and beneficiaries to address nutrition and health-related concerns.

Raid at Chemist Shop M/s Kapoor Medicos, Booth no. 119, Sector 40-C, Chandigarh By Mr. Tajinder Singh, Drugs Inspector, Drugs Control Department, Chandigarh on dated 08.04.2026
As per the directions issued by the Chief Secretary, Chandigarh Administration (U.T.) and the able guidance of Secretary Health, U.T. Administration and Director Health Services, U.T. Administration, Mr. Tajinder Singh, Drugs Inspector, Drugs Control Department, Chandigarh raided the Chemist Shop M/s Kapoor Medicos, Booth no. 119, Sector 40 C, Chandigarh on 08.04.2026 and seized – 540 Tablet of Alha 0.25 (Alprazolam Tablets IP 0.25mg) and 10 MTP kits (Abortion Kits) due to non-production of purchase and sale record.
During the raid, firm was inspected and record of various habit forming drugs was examined. Qualified person was absent at the time of insection. Purchase & Sale record was not maintained by the firm. Habit forming/liable to misused drugs were seized under the provisions of Drugs and Cosmetics Act 1940 and Rules 1945.
Showcause notice is being served to the firm. Strict action will be taken against the firm. Such drive shall be continued in future as well.

Ayushman Arogya Shivir Organized at Model Jail, Burail under TB Mukt Bharat - 100 Days Campaign
As part of the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan - 100 Days Campaign, an Ayushman Arogya Shivir was organized at Model Jail, Burail for one week from 3rd to 9th April 2026.
During the shivir, all inmates were sensitized about tuberculosis, including its symptoms, modes of transmission, and the availability of free diagnostic and treatment services provided by the government. On-the-spot screening of inmates was conducted using handheld digital X-ray machines, along with sputum testing through CBNAAT technology to ensure early detection and prompt management.
