*Residents Express Gratitude to Energy Minister Anil Vij for Grant of ₹50 Lakh for Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Statue*
Chandigarh, April 1: Residents from the 12 Cross Road area of Ambala Cantonment, along with people from Ambedkar Nagar, Mochi Mandi, and several other localities, met Haryana’s Energy, Transport, and Labour Minister Anil Vij today to express their heartfelt gratitude for releasing ₹50 lakh for the installation of a statue of B. R. Ambedkar.
During the interaction, slogans such as “Baba Saheb Ambedkar Amar Rahe” and “Anil Vij Zindabad” were raised by the attendees.
Municipal Council Vice-President Lalita Prasad, along with former councillors Rajkumar Raja, Sunny Tuli, Sunil Nidariya, Manoj Nainiwal, Nitin Nainiwal, Manish Rajora, Anil Nainiwal, Raju Bindra, Mannu Gujarati, Ashish Sabharwal, Manoj Bably, Deepak, R.K. Talwar, and several others, stated that the ₹50 lakh grant released from the Minister’s discretionary fund for installing Dr. Ambedkar’s statue at 12 Cross Road is a matter of great pride. They added that the amount will enable the installation of a grand statue to honor Baba Saheb, for which they expressed sincere thanks to the Minister.
It is noteworthy that Anil Vij had recently sanctioned ₹50 lakh from his discretionary fund to the Municipal Council, Ambala Sadar, for this purpose. The statue of Baba Saheb will now be installed using this fund.
*Newly Formed IMA Unit Meets Energy Minister*
Earlier in the day, a delegation from the newly formed Ambala Cantonment unit of the Indian Medical Association met Anil Vij and inquired about his well-being.
The Minister congratulated the newly appointed office bearers, including Patron Dr. R.K. Aneja, President Dr. Jitendra Aggarwal, Secretary Dr. Janak Raj Saini, and former President Dr. Vivek Malhotra. He also held discussions with the members of the association. Other office bearers and members of the association were also present on the occasion.
