International Women’s Day State-Level function to be held in Sirsa

Women doing outstanding work in different fields to be honoured

Chandigarh, March 7 – On the occasion of International Women’s Day and to mark the completion of 11 glorious years of the “Beti Bachao–Beti Padhao” programme, a state-level function will be organised on March 8 at Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa.

Sharing information in this regard an official spokesperson said that Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini will attend the function as the Chief Guest. The function will highlight women's empowerment, their rights, and their significant contributions to society.

The spokesperson said that International Women’s Day symbolises respect, equality and empowerment of women. During the function, women who have done outstanding work in various fields such as education, health, social service, sports and other sectors will be honoured. Along with this, various schemes and achievements related to women empowerment will also be shared so that women can be made aware of their rights and opportunities.
