Two arrested under NDPS
A case FIR No. 17 u/s 21 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Manimajra against Sushant Sharma R/o #1882, Main Market, Manimajra, Chandigarh, aged 22 years, who was apprehended from Sadhna Vocational Training Institute, Govindpura, Manimajra on 30-01-2026 at about 7:00 pm and 10.16 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession. The accused was arrested and remanded to police custody.
A case FIR No. 21 u/s 21 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Maloya against Sandeep R/o #6174, Maloya, Chandigarh, aged 33 years, who was apprehended near Community Centre, Maloya on 30-01-2026 and 7.16 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession. The accused was arrested and remanded to police custody.
One arrested in Snatching case
A case FIR No. 20 u/s 304(2), 3(5) BNS has been registered at Police Station Sarangpur on the complaint of Sarfraz R/o Small Flats, Dhanas, Chandigarh, stating that two unknown persons came on a bike, snatched his mobile phone and thereafter hit him on the head with a helmet near Togan Barrier on 29-01-2026 at about 8:30 pm. During the course of investigation on 31.1.2026 accused Mukesh R/o # 987A, small flats Dhanas, Chandigarh age 23 years has been arrested and recovered and snatched a mobile phone from his possession.
Two arrested for encroachment
A case FIR No. 27 u/s 285 BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-11 against Om Prakash R/o Kachi Colony, Dhanas, Chandigarh, aged 54 years, alleging that he installed a rehri on public place near Nehru Gate, PGI, Chandigarh on 30-01-2026 at about 7:45 pm. The accused was arrested and later released on bail.
A case FIR No. 16 u/s 285 BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-19, Chandigarh against Chand Parkash R/o #1607, Sector-45, Chandigarh, aged 41 years, alleging that he installed a rehri on a public place near Meat Market, Sector-21, Chandigarh on 30-01-2026. The accused was arrested and later released on bail.
Two arrested for public drinking
A case FIR No. 21 u/s 68-1(B) PP Act & 355 BNS has been registered at Police Station Sarangpur against Narendra R/o H. No. 1749/C, Small Flats, Dhanas, Chandigarh, aged 19 years, who was apprehended from near Small Flats, Dhanas on 30-01-2026 at about 6:18 pm while drinking and creating nuisance at a public place. The accused was arrested and later released on bail.
A case FIR No. 22 u/s 68-1(B) PP Act & 355 BNS has been registered at Police Station Sarangpur against Mann Singh R/o H. No. 1749/C, Small Flats, Dhanas, Chandigarh, aged 38 years, who was apprehended from near Small Flats, Dhanas on 30-01-2026 at about 6:05 pm while drinking and creating nuisance at a public place. The accused was arrested and later released on bail.
