New Delhi/Chandigarh, January 19 – Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Sh. Anil Vij said that the Bharatiya Janata Party is the best place for youth to work, as the BJP is a cadre-based and organisational party. He said that after Nitin Nabin took charge as the Acting National President, there has been a strong attraction among the youth, and Gen-Z believes that the BJP is a party where young people are respected. He further said that “I believe that a party which does not have democracy within itself cannot protect the democracy of the country.”
Sh. Vij was responding to questions from media persons in New Delhi today.
*In other parties, national presidents are appointed around retirement age: Vij*
He said that in other parties, either a national president is appointed when someone is nearing retirement, or if a family elder passes away, their offspring is made the president. He stated that across the country, only the Bharatiya Janata Party truly practices democracy, where elections take place from the bottom to the top, while in other parties, decisions flow from the top down.
He explained that in the BJP, elections are first held at the ward level, then mandal, district, state, and finally at the national level. In contrast, in other parties, the national president is already decided because they are family-run. He remarked that such parties function like agencies with distributorship systems.
*In BJP, the team matters, not an individual: Vij*
Responding to a question regarding the success of Acting National President Nitin Nabin’s tenure, Sh. Vij said that Sh. Nitin Nabin has vast experience, having served multiple terms as an MLA and minister from Bihar, and possesses strong organisational leadership skills. He emphasized that in the BJP, individuals do not matter as much as the team, because the party has a strong lineup of trained and experienced workers and officials. Everyone works together through decentralisation, which is why the BJP continues to flourish.
*The situation in West Bengal is extremely worrying: Vij*
Replying to a question regarding the recent death of a BLO in West Bengal, Sh.Vij said that the situation in the state is highly alarming. He stated that there is no rule of law in West Bengal; instead, it is the rule of Mamata. He pointed out that attacks on constitutional institutions in Bengal are not hidden from the rest of the country, and such actions will not allow democracy in the nation to remain free and independent. He added that the investigation into the BLO’s death is ongoing, facts are being gathered, and whatever facts emerge will be made public.
*Congress has fragmented across the country: Vij*
Responding to a question about the Congress forming municipal corporation committees in the state, he said that the Congress has fragmented into pieces across the country. Whenever they meet, they try to put the pieces together, but the fragments fail to unite, and nothing meaningful can be built from broken pieces.
