CM Orders Action Against Nearly Two Dozen District and Sub-Division-Level Officers for Improper Disposal of Complaints

Deputy Commissioners to Hold Monthly District-Level Review Meetings of Mhari Sadak App

Chandigarh, December 31 – Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that messages should be sent to all registered driving licence holders and vehicle owners to download the ‘Mhari Sadak’ app so that maximum citizens can use the app and contribute towards making all roads in the state pothole-free.

The Chief Minister was chairing a review meeting of the Mhari Sadak app. He informed that so far, 24,482 complaints have been received on the app, out of which action has been taken to resolve 10,501 complaints, work is in progress on 12,930 complaints, and the remaining complaints are also being addressed. Upon resolution of complaints received through the app, 1,770 citizens have expressed satisfaction, and about 1.18 lakh km of roads have been made pothole-free.

Taking serious note of incorrect disposal of complaints, the Chief Minister directed strict action against the concerned officers. He ordered time-bound and swift action after initiating inquiries against around two dozen district- and sub-division-level officers for overdue complaints on the app. He also reviewed in detail the issues faced by citizens while reporting potholes on the app and issued necessary directions to officers for their resolution.

The Chief Minister said that monthly review meetings of the Mhari Sadak app will be held at the district level under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioners, and necessary instructions in this regard have been issued to the officers. He directed the Engineer-in-Chief, Public Works Department, to submit a detailed report at the earliest regarding how many roads have been repaired so far, how many are currently under repair, and by when the remaining works will be completed.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the Mhari Sadak app is functioning as an important citizen interface platform for infrastructure-related feedback in Haryana. While the system has shown commendable performance in data collection and public participation, efforts are being made to further improve departmental response, real-time tracking, and public communication. Roads under various departments including Urban Local Bodies, Public Works Department, Haryana Urban Development Authority, Haryana State Marketing Board, Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation, Zila Parishad, GMDA, PMDA, and others have been brought under this app to make them pothole-free.

The Chief Minister said that providing information about road-related problems is the responsibility of every citizen. Complaints related to roads are being successfully registered and resolved promptly through the app. He added that the government will select one road in each district and develop it as a smart road, along with the construction of pathways alongside such roads. The Mhari Sadak app was launched by the government just last month, and since then, 19,629 people have downloaded the app.

He further informed that funds have been released for repair works of approximately 46,531 kilometres of roads across the state. In addition, white road markings have been completed on about 3,000 kilometres of roads to ensure better visibility for vehicles during foggy conditions.

During the meeting, PPT presentations prepared by several districts were also showcased, highlighting details of pothole-filling works.

Chandigarh, December 31 - Haryana Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini has issued strict instructions to officials to proactively address potential waterlogging and flooding across the state ahead of the monsoon season. He said that all drains must be cleaned in a timely manner and added that any delay or negligence in project execution will invite strict action against the concerned officers. The Chief Minister also directed Deputy Commissioners to regularly monitor all flood control projects.

Chairing the 57th meeting of the Haryana State Drought Relief and Flood Control Board here today, the Chief Minister approved 388 flood control schemes worth Rs 637.25 crore. This includes 59 schemes amounting to Rs 102 crore proposed by the Deputy Commissioners. Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Sh Shyam Singh Rana was also present on this occasion.

The Chief Minister said that the state witnessed serious incidents of waterlogging and flooding in 2023 and again in 2025. Drawing lessons from these experiences, he stressed the need to formulate a concrete flood management plan immediately. He directed Deputy Commissioners to undertake necessary remedial work without delay in identified problem areas, adding that sufficient time remains before the monsoon season.

River embankments to be strengthened, stone studs to be constructed on UP model

The Chief Minister directed that strong stone studs should be constructed along riverbanks to reinforce embankments and prevent soil erosion on the lines of Uttar Pradesh. He directed that all stone studs to be built this year should use new technology to further strengthen flood mitigation efforts. He also instructed that sandbags filled with gravel be kept ready for immediate deployment in areas vulnerable to erosion due to excessive water flow. Additionally, the Chief Minister reviewed the progress of stone stud construction work carried out by the department over the past 10 years.

No untreated wastewater should enter the Yamuna under any circumstances

The Chief Minister instructed that the discharge of sewage and polluted water from drains into the Yamuna River be completely banned. He stated that water from any drain should be released into the Yamuna only after proper treatment. For this purpose, all outfall points should be identified, and the construction of Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) and Common Effluent Treatment Plants (CETPs) should be expedited to ensure that untreated water does not enter the river. He also instructed that work to enhance the capacity of the Bhiwani–Ghaggar drain be completed on a priority basis.

The Chief Minister conducted a detailed review of flood relief schemes that have not been completed within the stipulated timeframe. He directed officials to complete these schemes at the earliest and ensure that tenders for all approved schemes are floated by the end of January. He added that a review meeting on the progress of these works would be held soon.

Sh Nayab Singh Saini further directed officials to explore possibilities for the agricultural use of treated water and emphasized inter-departmental coordination to develop schemes for supplying treated water to farms. He stated that the reuse of treated water, whether for industrial or agricultural purposes, is a collective responsibility of all concerned departments.

In connection with the alleged murder of a minor girl in village Rampura Bishnoian of Sirsa district, the victim’s family met Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini in Chandigarh today and demanded strict action against the accused

Chandigarh, December 31 – In connection with the alleged murder of a minor girl in village Rampura Bishnoian of Sirsa district, the victim’s family met Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini in Chandigarh today and demanded strict action against the accused. The Chief Minister assured the family of all possible assistance and said that the case would be taken up on a fast-track basis to ensure speedy justice. He also directed that immediate financial assistance be provided to the family.

It may be noted that on December 16, 2025, at around 5:00 pm, a three-year-old girl went missing from her home in village Rampura Bishnoian of Sirsa district. The family reported her disappearance to the Goriwala police post at around 8:30 pm the same night.

As soon as the information was received, the police initiated immediate action. CCTV footage from cameras installed near the victim’s house was examined, in which the child was seen riding a motorcycle with a neighbour and his nephew. Considering the seriousness of the case, 10 police teams were constituted and deployed to search for both suspects.

Early the next morning, one accused was taken into custody. During the search operation, the body of the child was recovered from the Nuiyanwali Minor canal. Thereafter, as per procedure, a post-mortem examination was conducted at the Civil Hospital, Dabwali, by a board of doctors comprising two gynaecologists, one forensic expert and one medical officer.

The second accused has also been arrested and, being a minor, has been sent to an Observation Home in accordance with the provisions of law.

During the investigation, viscera and other samples have been collected and sent for forensic examination to the FSL. Samples of the accused have also been seized and sent to the FSL for forensic matching.

Further investigation in the matter is ongoing, and all scientific and legal procedures are being followed with due care.
