Chandigarh, November 24, 2025: To commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of the ninth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji—revered worldwide as Hind Di Chadar—Punjab Raj Bhavan, organised a solemn and spiritually enriching Shabad Kirtan at the Guru Nanak Dev Auditorium here today.

The event was graced by the presence of the Punjab Governor and Administrator, UT Chandigarh, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, who paid tributes to Guru Sahib and participated in the ceremony with deep devotion.

The Shabad Kirtan was performed by the Raagi Singhs of Gurdwara Patshahi Dasvin, Sector 8, Chandigarh, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere for the Sangat.

Reflecting humility, oneness of humanity and the message of equality, the Punjab Governor & Administrator, UT Chandigarh, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, listened to the Shabad Kirtan seated among the Sangat and also performed Langar Sewa, reinforcing the Sikh principles of brotherhood and service to humanity.

On this occasion, Shri Sukhjinder Singh Behl, President, Gurdwara Patshahi Dasvi, Sector 8, honoured the Governor with a Siropao. Mayor Smt. Harpreet Kaur Babla, Home Secretary UT Sh. Mandeep Singh Brar, Finance Secretary UT Sh. Diprava Lakra, and Additional Solicitor General GOI Shri Satya Pal Jain were also presented siropaos.

Earlier, the Governor paid glowing tributes to Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, remembering his unparalleled sacrifice to protect religious freedom and human dignity. He urged citizens to follow the path shown by Guru Ji, who gave his life to safeguard the rights of the oppressed in 1675.

“Guru Ji’s teachings of fearlessness, compassion, and righteousness will forever inspire generations. Observing this solemn day is a reminder of our responsibility to uphold peace, harmony, and universal brotherhood,” he added.

The event also witnessed the presence of officials of Punjab Raj Bhavan, Chandigarh, public representatives, and their families.
