CUH Secures 301–350 Rank in THE Interdisciplinary Science Rankings
The Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh, has achieved a remarkable milestone by securing a place in the 301–350 band in the second edition of the Times Higher Education (THE) Interdisciplinary Science Rankings 2026. This achievement highlights CUH’s growing prominence in the global academic landscape, particularly in the domain of interdisciplinary scientific research and innovation.
Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of the University expressed immense pride in this achievement. He said that this recognition is a testament to the University’s steadfast commitment to interdisciplinary research, innovation-driven teaching, and global academic engagement. Our faculty members, researchers, and students continue to push boundaries, and this ranking reflects the collective hard work of the CUH community. We remain dedicated to strengthening our research ecosystem and contributing meaningfully to national and global scientific challenges.
Prof. Pawan Kumar Sharma, Pro Vice-Chancellor, also congratulated the CUH fraternity. The Central University of Haryana (CUH) achieved a significant step toward fostering innovation and sustainability in the civil engineering sector with the inauguration of the First Centre of Excellence to Promote Sustainable Construction Practices. The centre has been established in association with UltraTech Cement to support research, training, and knowledge exchange in modern and environment-friendly construction technologies.
The event witnessed the gracious presence of Er. Rahul Goel, Senior Vice President and Zonal Head, Technical Services (North), UltraTech Cement, as the chief guest. Senior university leadership including Prof. (Dr.) Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice Chancellor; Prof. Suneel Kumar, Registrar; Prof. Vikas Garg, Dean, School of Engineering & Technology and Prof. Bhaskar Das, Head, Department of Civil Engineering, were present on the occasion. Prof. Sunita Srivastava, Director, Centre for Innovation and Incubation, attended as a special invitee and shared her perspectives on the initiative.
During the session, Er. Rahul Goel highlighted cutting-edge technologies and trends that are shaping the future landscape of the construction industry, emphasizing sustainability, efficiency, precision engineering, and innovation.
Addressing the gathering, Vice Chancellor Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar underscored the importance of stronger academia–industry linkages to meet national development goals. He stated that such collaborations are aligned with the Government of India’s vision of innovation-driven growth, skill enhancement, and sustainable infrastructure development.
Further, Registrar Prof. Suneel Kumar shared key points from the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between CUH and UltraTech Cement, outlining collaborative efforts in training programs, student internships, research, and capacity-building initiatives.
In her remarks, Prof. Sunita Shrivastava connected the purpose of the Centre of Excellence with the broader ecosystem of innovation and incubation at CUH, emphasizing its potential to enable startups, promote research-driven entrepreneurship, and support industry-oriented skill development.
Experts from UltraTech Cement conducted a live hands-on demonstration showcasing modern, sustainable construction materials and techniques. Mr. Aman Sehgal, Technical Head (Haryana), also delivered a comprehensive technical presentation on innovative construction solutions and emerging product technologies.
Faculty members of the Department of Civil Engineering actively participated in the program, engaging with industry professionals to explore future collaboration opportunities. The ceremony concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks presented by Dr. Ran Bir Singh, Nodal Coordinator of the Centre, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, partner representatives, faculty, and staff for their support in making the initiative successful. The newly established Centre of Excellence is set to function as a pivotal platform for skill development, research, industry partnerships, and advancing sustainable construction in the region.
