14.09.2025-Under the leadership of Dr. Sagar Preet Hooda, IPS, Director General of Police, U.T., Chandigarh, and the close supervision of Sh. Pushpendra Kumar, IPS, Inspector General of Police, UT, Chandiagrh and Sh. Sumer Partap Singh, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police (Security and Traffic), Chandigarh Police successfully conducted a one-week Tactical Driving Course for drivers from 8th to 13th September 2025.
Given the frequent visits of VIPs and VVIPs to Chandigarh—popularly known as "The City Beautiful"—this training was deemed essential to enhance the operational efficiency of drivers. The workshop was meticulously designed and executed under the expert guidance of a National Security Guard (NSG) team.
The NSG team comprised distinguished officers, including T/CDR, Sh. Santosh Kumar (12 SRG), T/CDR, Ashok Kumar P (12 SRG), AC-II/GD, Ajit Singh (12 SRG), AC-II/GD, Naveen Kumar (12 SRG), R-II/Dvr, Sunil Prajapati (12 SRG), R- II/Dvr, LaxmanBishnoi (12 SRG), R-II/Dvr, Jaimon CM (13 SRG), R-I/Dvr, Virender Singh (12 SRG), R-II/Dvr, Omprakash (13 SRG). 45 officials from Chandigarh Police imparted this training program, who were trained to manage emergencies effectively and ensure VIP/VVIP protection, particularly in motorcade scenarios.
The course, known for its rigorous standards and specialized training modules, is designed to equip security personnel with high-level tactical and evasive driving skills, critical in counter-terrorism operations, VIP protection, and high-threat environments. The training focused on precision driving, threat response maneuvers, convoy security, and high-speed vehicle control under simulated hostile conditions.
The officer from Chandigarh Police underwent intensive training alongside personnel from various elite units, showcasing exceptional aptitude, discipline, and resilience throughout the course.
