Chandigarh, July 21, 2025-A two-week Internship Training Programme for students of the Centre for Police Administration, Panjab University, Chandigarh, in collaboration with the Chandigarh Police, started at the Recruit Training Centre (RTC), Chandigarh.

The programme will conclude on July 31, 2025.

The inaugural session featured a formal welcome address by Inspector Poonam Dilawari, Chief Law Instructor, RTC, in the presence of students, faculty members, and Dr. Kuldeep Singh, Chairman, Centre for Police Administration. The students today visited Police Station Sector 26, Chandigarh, where SHO Sh. Gian Singh interacted with them and provided insightful information on police station functioning.

The internship is aimed at offering students practical exposure to core areas of policing such as police station operations, crowd management, forensic science, traffic regulation, economic offences, cybercrime, and security management.

During interactions with police officials at RTC and the police stations, Dr. Kuldeep Singh emphasised the significance of this initiative, stating:
“Such programmes promote institutional collaboration and empower students with practical knowledge essential for understanding contemporary policing challenges. They help students connect academic learning with real-world police procedures and techniques.”

This initiative marks a significant step in bridging classroom education with field-level experience, nurturing a future cadre of informed and capable police professionals.
