Located in Kangra district which is famous for several religious places, Chamunda Devi temple is highly revered holy place for Hindus across India.Famously known as Chamunda Nandikeshwar Dham situated on the banks of river Baner, this temple is dedicated to Chamunda Devi,a form of Maa Shakti.She is believed to be the reincarnation of Goddess Durga,made to demolish two demons(asuras), Chanda and Munda.Chamunda Devi temple is also revered as the holy abode of Shiva and Shakti. She is one of the seven Matrikas (Mother Goddesses) and 51 Shaktipeethas. Chamunda Devi is revered as Goddess of war.
