CHANDIGARH,10.01.20-Govt. College of Yoga Education and Health, Sector- 23 A Chandigarh in collaboration with Indian Dietetics Association celebrated ‘World Dietetics Day’ today i.e. 10th January, 2020 to raise awareness among masses regarding importance of nutrition in maintaining good health.
The programme commenced with the welcome of the Chief Guest Smt. Lippi Parida a well known author, photographer, artist along with Prof. R. Puri who was the Guest of Honorby the Principal of the College, Dr. Sapna Nanda who in her perfection,expounded thesignificance of nutrition in the holistic health. The programme started with the lightning of lamp ceremony followed by Saraswati Vandana by the students of the college. P.P.T. presentation on Nutrition requirement of Indian adult was given by Dr. Sapna Nanda. Recipe making competition for both students as well as general public members was conducted and judged by Dr. Madhu Kaul and Mrs. Damandeep Kaur. It was followed by Quiz on nutrition and a skit on ‘Healthy Food Habits’, asa part of the celebration.Two recipes i.e. Kinoo squash and Peanut burfi were demonstrated by S. Harpal Singh of Department of Nutrition who gave knowledge regarding the nutritional value of both during winters. In her address, the Chief Guest Mrs. Lippi Paridaextended the vision of public by highlighting the importance of exercise, balanced emotional state along with diet as a life mantra.At the end of the programme, prizes were awarded to the winners. Around120participantsenthusiastically participated in the celebrations.
