Chief Minister stays overnight in Bhatwari under the ‘Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar’ program

A festive atmosphere, reminiscent of Diwali, prevailed in Bhatwari village of the Rohru Assembly constituency upon the arrival of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. Under the ‘Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar’ program, the Chief Minister visited Bhatwari, listened to the grievances of local residents and directed officials to ensure their speedy resolution.

Villagers welcomed and honored the Chief Minister with traditional music and dance. Locals sang traditional Laman folk songs and performed the Nati dance. The Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu also joined the villagers in the Nati dance and boosted their spirits by singing local songs.

The Chief Minister stayed overnight at the residence of Pradhan Prashanlal of the Diudi Gram Panchayat. Pradhan Prashanlal said, "Former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh had visited this village in the past, but no Chief Minister had visited since then. Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is the first Chief Minister of the state to spend the night in this remote village, which has generated great enthusiasm among the locals."

Local residents prepared traditional delicacies for the Chief Minister's dinner. He was served traditional regional dishes, including Fafra, Kode ki Roti (finger millet bread), red rice and Rajma (kidney beans).

Villagers accorded a warm welcome to the Chief Minister at various points along the route. The Chief Minister announced Rs. 5 lakh each to Mahila Mandals. The Chief Minister assured that the Barshil bridge would be made motorable and announced Rs. 20 lakh for the Chingwari road. Additionally, he announced Rs. 5 lakh for the construction of the Pekha-Diudi Mahila Mandal building and declared that the Dhamwari school would be affiliated with the CBSE board.

Local MLA Mohan Lal Brakta, Deputy Commissioner Shimla Anupam Kashyap, Superintendent of Police Gaurav Singh and other dignitaries were present on the occasion..

CM pays floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today paid floral tributes to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on their birth anniversaries at Bhatwari village in the Rohru Assembly constituency. Remembering the invaluable contributions of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri to nation-building, the Chief Minister said that their ideals and principles continue to remain relevant even today. He said the present generation must follow the path of truth, non-violence, simplicity, dedication to duty and service to the nation shown by the two great leaders.

The Chief Minister was on a two-day visit to the Rohru Assembly constituency and stayed overnight at Bhatwari village under the ‘Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar’ programme.

MLA Rohru Mohan Lal Brakta and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion and paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri.

CM directs to reopen Janglik Road within ten days, Government to provide Rs. 6 crore for bridge construction

  • Rs. 2 crore announced for landslide-affected area in Thaintwadi village

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, during his visit to the Rohru Assembly constituency today, visited the Tangnu-Janglik Panchayat area. He inspected the Janglik road, which was blocked due to a recent landslide and took stock of the situation in the area.

The Chief Minister directed the concerned officials to restore the Janglik road for vehicular traffic within ten days. He said that the closure of the road was causing difficulties for local residents as well as horticulturists and that the government would ensure its early restoration.

The Chief Minister announced an additional four crore rupees to expedite the work on the under-construction Janglik bridge. In addition, he announced two crore rupees for the area affected by the landslide in Thaintwadi village.

The Chief Minister said that the state government was committed to restoring normalcy in disaster-affected areas and providing necessary relief and facilities to the affected people. He also directed officials to expedite relief and restoration works.

Rohru MLA Mohan Lal Brakta along with other dignitaries and officials from the concerned departments was present on the occasion.
