Chandigarh-Dated: 07.03.2026-State Bank of India, Local Head Office, Sector 17, Chandigarh celebrated International Women’s Day on 07 March 2026 with a series of activities aimed at promoting wellness, empowerment and inclusivity among employees.
The celebrations commenced in the morning with an energetic Zumba dance session, encouraging participants to embrace fitness and begin the day on a positive and enthusiastic note.
Later, a self-defence training session was conducted by Chandigarh Police under the “Swayam” training programme, equipping participants with practical techniques and awareness for personal safety and confidence. The event also featured fun-filled activities, creating a vibrant and interactive atmosphere.
Aligning with this year’s theme “Give to Gain” 12 sewing machines were donated to Paryog Foundation, Panchkula to support skill development and livelihood generation for women.
A key highlight of the celebration was the live address by the Deputy Managing Director (HR) & Circle Development Officer, who shared inspiring thoughts on the importance of women’s empowerment and acknowledged the invaluable contributions of women employees in strengthening the organisation.
Through such initiatives, State Bank of India continues to reaffirm its commitment towards fostering an inclusive, supportive and empowering workplace for women while contributing meaningfully to society.
