CHANDIGARH, 5th February 2026:Infusing governance with devotion and social resolve, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Thursday reaffirmed that the Punjab Government is duty bound to carve an egalitarian society rooted in the timeless teachings of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj.

Speaking ahead of the state-level Parkash Purab celebrations at Sri Khuralgarh Sahib, the tap asthan of the revered Guru ji, the Chief Minister said that the entire Punjab Cabinet would join the Sangat on February 6 to pay homage with full religious fervour and enthusiasm.

Describing the bani of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji as a lighthouse for humanity and a guiding force to eradicate social evils, the Chief Minister said the Guru Ji’s vision of a society free from suffering, inequality and discrimination continues to inspire Punjab’s collective conscience. He also highlighted the world-class memorial constructed at Sri Khuralgarh Sahib at a cost of ₹148 crore as the state government’s humble tribute to Sri Guru Ravidass Ji’s enduring legacy of equality, compassion and human dignity.

On Thursday, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann stated, “The Punjab Government is duty bound to carve out an egalitarian society as preached by Sri Guru Ravidass Maharaj ji. To perpetuate the great legacy of Sri Guru Ravidass Maharaj ji, the Punjab government is organising a state-level function at Sri Khuralgarh Sahib in Hoshiarpur district on February 6.”

The Chief Minister said that the entire state Cabinet will join the sangat to pay homage to Sri Guru Ravidass ji at the function being organised to mark Guru ji’s Parkash Purb. “The entire state Cabinet will join the sangat to pay homage to Sri Guru Ravidass ji in this state-level function being organised at Khuralgarh,” the he said, while urging people from all walks of life to participate. “I urge the entire sangat to participate in this state-level function with full religious fervour and enthusiasm,” he added.

Calling upon the people to draw inspiration from the teachings of the revered Guru ji, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann gave a clarion call to follow the path shown by Sri Guru Ravidass ji to wipe out various social maladies prevalent in society. “The bani of Sri Guru Ravidass ji is a lighthouse for the entire humanity,” he said, adding that Sri Guru Ravidass ji showed the path of humanity to the entire world. He said that the teachings of the great Guru can play a pivotal role in emancipating society from the problems it is currently confronting.

Highlighting the efforts made by his government to honour the legacy of Sri Guru Ravidass ji, the Chief Minister said that a world-class memorial has already been constructed at Sri Khuralgarh Sahib at a cost of nearly Rs 148 crore as a humble tribute to the great Guru ji. “The state government has constructed a world-class memorial at Sri Khuralgarh Sahib at a cost of nearly Rs 148 crore as a humble tribute to Sri Guru Ravidass ji,” he said.

Detailing the facilities at the memorial, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said that it is equipped with a modern building with tourist facilities, multi-level parking, Minar-e-Begumpura, Sangat Hall, a state-of-the-art auditorium and other amenities. He said that Sri Guru Ravidass ji gave the message of welfare of the entire humanity and equality of all sections of society, thereby laying the foundation for a society based on egalitarian values.

The Chief Minister further said that Sri Guru Ravidass ji envisioned an ideal society where no one suffers any kind of discrimination or deprivation. “Sri Guru Ravidass ji laid out the concept of such an ideal society where nobody undergoes suffering of any kind,” CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, adding that the life, philosophy and teachings of the great Guru continue to guide humanity.

Describing Sri Guru Ravidass ji as a towering spiritual figure, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said that he was a great spiritual ambassador and a messiah of the poor and underprivileged sections of society. “Sri Guru Ravidass ji taught us to lead a virtuous and noble life, and his teachings continue to inspire generations,” the Chief Minister said.

*Robust state-level arrangements for 649th Parkash Purb and preparations for historic 650th in 2027*

The Bhagwant Singh Mann Government has put in place extensive, well-coordinated arrangements to mark the 649th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj with deep religious fervour, while simultaneously initiating year-long, state-wide preparations for the historic 650th Parkash purb in 2027. A three-day state-level event has been organised at Sri Khuralgarh Sahib with large-scale participation of saints, spiritual leaders, Cabinet Ministers, the Deputy Speaker and other dignitaries, culminating with the Bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib on February 6.

The Bhagwant Mann government has ensured comprehensive facilities and seamless arrangements for the convenience of the sangat, while also expanding the observance beyond a single event by launching programmes that will carry the teachings of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji from Sri Khuralgarh Sahib to every village across Punjab. Educational, cultural and social initiatives are being rolled out throughout the year to sensitise students and citizens to Guru Ji’s life, philosophy and message of equality, brotherhood and human dignity, firmly positioning the 649th Parkash purb as the foundation for unprecedented and historic celebrations of the 650th Parkash purb in 2027.
