Chandigarh, 9 December: The Mathematics Club- Infinite Insight, under the aegis of the Postgraduate Department of Mathematics at Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women organised an enriching career counseling session titled ‘Exploring Career Paths in Mathematics’.
The session was conducted by Dr. Chitra Malhotra, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, who delivered an insightful and engaging talk on the vast spectrum of career opportunities available to the students of Mathematics. Dr. Malhotra shed light on prominent fields such as data analytics, actuarial sciences, finance, research, and academia, while also highlighting the growing impact of Mathematics in emerging domains including artificial intelligence, machine learning, and quantitative modeling. She encouraged students to embrace interdisciplinary learning and helped them draw meaningful connections between mathematical concepts and their real-world applications. The event received an enthusiastic response, leaving students informed, inspired, and more confident in planning their future trajectories.
Principal Ms. Neena Sharma highlighted the importance of this session as she said that such sessions not only broaden students’ understanding of career prospects but also motivate them to view Mathematics as a gateway to intellectually stimulating and fulfilling professional paths.
