Chandigarh, November 12:- City Mayor Smt. Harpreet Kaur Babla chaired a comprehensive review meeting with Councillors, the Chief Engineer, and senior officers of the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh to assess the progress of development works under the ₹25–50 lakh allocations for each ward. The meeting focused on evaluating the status, quality, and pace of infrastructure and civic improvement projects across the city.

The Mayor emphasized that the Corporation’s top priority is to ensure timely completion, transparency, and tangible results in every ward. She instructed officials to expedite pending works related to road repairs, drainage systems, sanitation, street lighting, and water supply, ensuring that citizens experience visible improvements in their daily lives.

Councillors presented detailed ward-wise updates on ongoing and completed projects, highlighting both progress and challenges encountered on the ground. The Chief Engineer provided a technical overview of various works, assuring that quality standards and timelines are being closely monitored.

Directing all departments to adopt a proactive approach, the Mayor called for weekly monitoring, on-site inspections, and submission of follow-up reports to track project performance. She stressed that accountability and coordination among engineering, health, and sanitation wings are crucial for efficient execution and public satisfaction.

The Mayor reiterated that development must be citizen-centric, sustainable, and inclusive, reflecting the vision of a cleaner, better-connected, and more livable Chandigarh. She urged officers and councillors to work collectively to deliver visible outcomes that strengthen public confidence in the Municipal Corporation’s functioning.
