Ludhiana 12 November, 2025-In a heartwarming display of community service and compassion, the Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle (GGSSC) unit of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, organized a 'Mega Blood Donation Camp' to mark the 350th martyrdom anniversary of ninth Guru.
The camp was inaugurated by Dr. JPS Gill, Vice Chancellor. It was held in collaboration with Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMC&H), Ludhiana. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and staff of various colleges within the university. Approximately 80 units of blood were donated.
Dr. JPS Gill expressed his gratitude to the donors and highlighted the significance of the blood donation drive, emphasizing that it embodied the true spirit of service to humanity, transcending barriers of religion, caste, and creed. He stated, "The event was held to commemorate the 350th Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, whose unparalleled sacrifice in upholding the values of freedom, faith, and human dignity. His martyrdom continues to inspire generations with the ideals of courage, compassion, and righteousness."
Dr. R.S. Aulakh, Director of Students' Welfare and Dr. Swaran Singh Randhawa, Dean, College of Veterinary Science described blood donors as "real heroes," recognizing their essential role in saving lives. Team GGSSC, i.e., Dr. Jaspal Singh Hundal, Dr. D. Pathak, Dr. Varinderpal Singh, Dr. Gursharan Singh, Dr. Sarabjit Kaur, Dr. Jujhar, and Mr. Dilchain Singh, motivated the youth to participate in large numbers. The event was attended by faculty members, office bearers of GGSSC and other dignitaries from the university.
