CHANDIGARN, 01.07.25-In a proud moment for the city and her institution,Under Officer Nishtha Sharma, a cadet of theNCC Army WingatMehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, has won theSilver Medal in the Open Sight Prone eventat theInter Group Competition IDSSC Camp-2025. Representing the1 CHD Girls Battalion, Chandigarh, Nishtha delivered an outstanding performance at thisDirectorate-level championship, a crucial step toward thenational-level Inter Directorate Sports Shooting Championship (IDSSC).
In recognition of her excellence, she washonoured by the Additional Director General (ADG), Major General Jagdeep Singh Cheema, during thePre IDSSC-I Camp, held fromJune 15 to 25, 2025. Her commendable performance at the Inter Group level earned hershortlisting for the Pre IDSSC-II Camp, bringing her a step closer to qualifying for the National-level Inter Directorate competition.
The sport of shooting demands immense focus, control, and resilience—qualities Nishtha displayed with great poise, setting a benchmark for her peers in NCC and beyond.
