CHANDIGARH, 28.05.26In a heartening initiative to promote menstrual hygiene awareness and accessibility, the Enactus SSBUICET team of Panjab University, in collaboration with Versatile Enterprises Pvt. Ltd., Ludhiana celebrated World Menstrual Hygiene Day by distributing eco-friendly cloth-based sanitary napkins to underprivileged women in Dhanas and other slum areas of Chandigarh and neighbouring regions.

In a significant step toward promoting menstrual hygiene and environmental sustainability, Versatile Enterprises Pvt. Ltd., Ludhiana, donated 500 cloth sanitary napkins under its CSR initiative Amodini. These eco-friendly pads were designed to support safe menstrual practices while reducing environmental impact. The donation, led by Shri Arun Seth, Managing Director of Versatile Enterprises, reflects his continued commitment to women’s health and dignity. Prof. Seema Kapoor, Faculty Advisor of the Enactus team and Vice President of the Corporate Sustainability Council, Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CSC WICCI), Chandigarh, highlighted Shri Seth’s consistent and heartfelt contributions toward this vital cause.

The donation ceremony was held in the presence of Prof. Anupama Sharma, Chairperson of Dr. SSBUICET, Panjab University, who appreciated the initiative and emphasized its importance in spreading awareness about menstrual hygiene and supporting underprivileged communities.

Mr. Kapil Seth, Senior Executive Director, Ms. Geetanjali Bakshi, CSR Coordinator of Versatile Group & member of CSC WICCI and Poonam Seth from Versatile Group, played a pivotal role in organizing and executing the donation drive in coordination with Enactus team. They personally led the distribution efforts, visiting slum communities alongside Enactus volunteers to ensure the products reached the intended beneficiaries. The outreach also included awareness sessions on menstrual hygiene management and safe product usage. Ms. Bakshi said that our collective goal is to ensure that no woman is deprived of basic hygiene resources. By combining awareness with access, we hope to reduce stigma and improve health outcomes, said Mr. Kapil.

Prof. Kapoor emphasized the impact of such collaborations, stating that partnering with socially conscious industry leaders like Versatile Enterprises enables us to create real, tangible change at the grassroots level. This initiative reflects the transformative power of uniting academia, corporate responsibility and community involvement to drive sustainable social progress.
