Cheating
A Case FIR No. 60 u/s 319(2), 318(4), 336(3), 338, 340(2), 61(2) BNS has been registered at Cyber Police Station on the complaint of a lady R/o Sector 38 West, Chandigarh. The complainant alleged that she was cheated of ₹53,23,266 on 06-02-2025 by an unknown person under the guise of a share trading investment scheme. Investigation is ongoing.
A Case FIR No. 56 u/s 318(4), 61(2) BNS & Section 24 of the Immigration Act has been registered at Police Station Sector-17 on the complaint of Dharampal Singh R/o Village Bankharpur, Tehsil Balachaur, District SBS Nagar, Punjab. The complainant accused Manpreet Singh, Kasir, Garry Thakur, Raman Kumar, and Aryan Rana (owners and employees of AVC Immigration, SCO No. 110–111, Sector-17C, Chandigarh) of cheating him of ₹4,77,200 on the pretext of sending him abroad. Investigation is ongoing.
Two arrested in Snatching case
A Case FIR No. 30 u/s 304(2), 3(5), and 317(2) BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-19 on the complaint of lady R/o #1261, Sector 22, Chandigarh. The complainant was targeted by two unknown motorcyclists who snatched her gold chain on the dividing road of Sector 21/22 on 16-05-2025 at around 6:00 AM. During investigation, accused Rohit @ Gulli S/o Balbir Singh R/o #1041, Phase-1, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh (Age 25), and Vijay S/o Bhagwana R/o #2468, Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh (Age 25) were arrested and are in police lockup.
.A Case FIR No. 26 u/s 304(2), 3(5) BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-49 on the complaint of Rajinder Arora R/o #1509, Progressive Society, Sector 50D, Chandigarh. The complainant reported that two unknown motorcyclists snatched his gold chain near the dividing road of Sector 45/50 towards Burail Jail Road on 16-05-2025 at about 6:17 AM. Investigation is ongoing.
Theft
A Case FIR No. 95 u/s 305 BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-31 on the complaint of Mohan Maiti R/o Plot No. 185, Phase 2, Industrial Area, Chandigarh. The complainant reported theft of an AC compressor and one battery from his plot on 12-05-2025. Investigation is ongoing.
