Election Commission has issued a revised schedule
Chandigarh, September 1 - Haryana Chief Electoral Officer, Sh. Pankaj Agarwal said that the Election Commission of India has revised the schedule for the general elections to the Haryana Legislative Assembly. Voting will now take place on October 5, 2024, and the counting of votes will be conducted on October 8, 2024. The entire election process will be completed by October 10.
The Chief Electoral Officer stated that however, the notification for the election process will be issued on September 5 as planned earlier. Candidates can submit their nominations until September 12. The scrutiny of the nomination papers will be done on September 13. Nominations can be withdrawn until September 16.
Sh. Agarwal said that the publication of the voter list had already been done by the department on August 27. Still, representatives of political parties have been requested to review the voter list and if there are any objections, they should be submitted to the District Election Registration Officer through the BLO in the prescribed form. It is mandatory to have one's name in the voter list to cast a vote. Only those whose names are on the voter list can vote. Voting can also be done with 12 other alternative documents if a voter does not have an ID card, added the Chief Electoral Officer.
The Chief Electoral Officer appealed to the people of the state to participate in biggest festival of democracy by casting their votes.

Chandigarh, September 1 - Haryana Chief Electoral Officer, Sh. Pankaj Agarwal, said that citizens who turned 18 on or before July 1, 2024, and whose names are not yet on the voter list, have their last chance to register to vote before the Assembly elections by September 2, 2024.
He said that if one's name is not on the final voter list published on August 27, then one can apply for voter registration by filling out Form 6 through the BLO or the Voter Helpline App. All applications received by September 2 will be processed according to the rules, and those whose applications are approved will have their names added to the voter list, said the Chief Electoral Officer.
The Chief Electoral Officer said that the final voter list for the Assembly elections was published on August 27 and is available at all District Election Officer offices. Apart from this, the voter lists have been uploaded on the department's website, ceoharyana.gov.in, as well where anyone can download and check their name and can also check one's voter status by calling the Voter Helpline number 1950. Applications received after September 2, 2024, will be considered only after the Assembly elections, as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India.Sh.Pankaj Agarwal appealed to the people of the state to participate in the biggest festival of democracy and cast their vote on October 5,2024.
