Chandigarh, June 15:Mai Bhago Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (AFPI) for Girls, SAS Nagar (Mohali) added another feather in its cap, as two of its alumni, Haroop Kaur and Nivedita Saini, have been commissioned as Flying Officers in the Indian Air Force after successfully passing out from the Air Force Academy, Dundigal (Hyderabad) on Saturday. The passing out parade was reviewed by Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari, PVSM, AVSM, VM, ADC.

Flying Officer Haroop Kaur, who will be joining the Education Branch, is the daughter of Bhagwant Singh, a Head Constable in Punjab Police, SAS Nagar (Mohali) District, and Flying Officer Nivedita Saini's father, S. Harinder Singh Saini, is a Principal in a Government School and hails from Pathankot District. Flying Officer Nivedita Saini will be joining the Logistic Branch of the Air Force.

Congratulating both the girls for their noteworthy accomplishment, Punjab Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Minister Mr Aman Arora said that their success will certainly motivate more daughters of Punjab to explore opportunities for making a career in the defence services. Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab Government is fully committed to fulfil the aspirations of the state’s daughters, who want to join defence services as commissioned officers. Punjab Government has set up an NDA Preparatory Wing for Girls at Mai Bhago AFPI in July 2023. Presently, the second batch is undergoing training, he informed.

Notably, Mai Bhago AFPI, working under the umbrella of Punjab Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training department, has a fully residential campus with state-of-the-art infrastructure and the only one of its kind in the country, he added.

Expressing satisfaction over the two alumni being commissioned as Flying Officers, the Director of Mai Bhago AFPI Major General Jasbir Singh Sandhu, AVSM (Retd.) said that this achievement will further boost the state government’s efforts of sending more girls to the various armed forces pre-commission training academies. He also extended his best wishes to these newly commissioned officers for their bright future ahead in the Indian Air Force.

Chandigarh, June 15:Two cadets of the Government of Punjab run Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (AFPI) of the 8th Course brought laurels to the state after they successfully made it to the Indian Air Force as Commissioned Officers.

Both the cadets of the AFPI were commissioned as officers in the Indian Air Force after the Combined Graduation Parade (CGP) held at Air Force Academy, Dundigal in Hyderbad, on Saturday. The Parade was reviewed by Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari, PVSM, AVSM, VM, ADC.

Flying Officer Kanwarnoor Singh, who hails from Tarn Taran, will be joining the Flying Branch as a Fighter Pilot, while Flying Officer Anish Pandey, who belongs to Amritsar, will be joining the Flying Branch as a helicopter Pilot.

Punjab Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Minister Mr Aman Arora congratulated both the Cadets on becoming Officers in the Indian Air Force and wished them the best in service.

With the commissioning of these cadets, he further informed, as many as 160 Alumni of the prestigious Maharaja Ranjit Singh AFPI, have been commissioned in various wings of the Armed Forces of India to include 21 officers in Indian Air Force, 121 officers in Indian Army and 18 officer in Indian Navy. In addition to this, 69 Alumni are undergoing training for commissioning in the three services, he added.

Congratulating the cadets on their commissioning, Major General Ajay H. Chauhan, VSM, Director General of Maharaja Ranjit Singh AFPI called upon them to be true representatives of the Institute and make the Nation proud as true sons of the State of Punjab.

ऊना के इंदिरा स्टेडियम में मनाया जाएगा अंतरराष्ट्रीय योग दिवस

ऊना, 15 जून। ऊना के इंदिरा स्टेडियम में 21 जून शुक्रवार को अंतरराष्ट्रीय योग दिवस मनाया जाएगा। इस अवसर पर जिला रेड क्रॉस सोसाइटी ऊना और जिला आयुष विभाग के सहयोग से इंदिरा स्टेडियम में सुबह 6.30 से 7.30 बजे तक योग शिविर का आयोजन किया जाएगा।
अतिरिक्त उपायुक्त महेंद्र पाल गुर्जर ने सफल आयोजन को लेकर आयुष और जिला युवा सेवाएं एवं खेल विभाग समेत अन्य संबंधित विभागों के अधिकारियों के साथ शनिवार को बैठक की और उन्हें आवश्यक दिशा निर्देश दिए। इस दौरान जिला आयुष अधिकारी तथा जिला युवा सेवाएं एवं खेल अधिकारी सहित अन्य अधिकारी उपस्थित रहे।
जिला आयुष अधिकारी ने बताया कि योग शिविर में विभाग के चिकित्सक एवं योग शिक्षक आसन, ध्यान व योग क्रियाएं करवाएंगे। उन्होंने सभी लोगों से अंतरराष्ट्रीय योग दिवस पर योग शिविर में भाग लेने का आग्रह किया।
