One arrested under NDPS Act

District Crime Cell of Chandigarh Police has arrested Ravi Kumar R/o # 91, DMC, Chandigarh (Age-48 years) and recovered 9.79 gram heroin from his possession near Vita Milk Booth, Sector-38 West, Chandigarh on 10.06.2024. A case FIR No. 55, U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Snatching

Rohit Chand R/o # 157, Sector-9/B, Chandigarh reported that three unknown persons on motorcycle snatched away two silver chains and one mobile phone in front of H.No. 22, Sector 9/A, Chandigarh on 10.06.2024. A case FIR No. 59, U/S 379-A, 34, IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Gurpreet Singh R/o Shiv Shakti Kirana Store, Dashmesh Nagar, Nayagaon, PB, reported that three unknown persons on motorcycle snatched away mobile phone, wallet containing Rs. 2000/- & documents near Chowk Sector 14/15/24/25, Chandigarh on 10.06.2024. A case FIR No. 71, U/S 379-A, 34, IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Assault/Rioting

A case FIR No. 45, U/S 147, 148, 149, 323, 324, 341, 506 IPC & 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered in PS-Sarangpur, Chandigarh on the complaint of Ayan R/o # 756, Ambedkar Colony, Dhanas, Chandigarh who alleged that Sahil R/o # 1553, Chaman Colony, Dhanas Chandigarh, R/o Vill. Dhanas, Chandigarh, Sonu R/o Village Dhanas, Chandigarh, Piyush @ Vishal R/o # 176, Vill. Dhanas, Chandigarh, Shubham R/o # 494-C, EWS Colony, Dhanas, Chandigarh, Kartik R/o # 320-C, EWS Colony, Dhanas, Chandigarh and Ajay R/o Village Dhanas, Chandigarh attacked on complainant with knife near UCO Bank ATM, Vill. Dhanas, Chandigarh on 10.06.2024. Complainant sustained injuries and was admitted to PGI, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Assault

Rajkishore Mali R/o # 919, Village Faidan, Chandigarh who alleged that Ankit and others beaten/threatened the complainant and his relatives near his house on 09.06.2024. A case FIR No. 111, U/S 323, 341, 506 IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Keeping in view theft/robbery/snatching incidents occurred in the city, on the directions of Ms. Kanwardeep Kaur, IPS, SSP/U.T, Chandigarh under the supervision of DSP/DCC and Insp. Jasminder Singh, I/C DCC, team of District Crime Cell succeeded in arresting one accused in NDPS Act case.

BRIEF OF CASE:-

CASE FIR No. 55 DATED 11.06.2024 U/S 21 NDPS Act PS-MALOYA, CHANDIGARH

It is submitted that on 10.06.2024, ASI Rajesh Kumar along with police officials were on patrolling duty near Karan Taxi Stand, Sector-38 West Chandigarh. When they reached near Kachha Rasta Shashi Mohalla, in-front of Vita Milk Booth DMC, Chandigarh. At about 8:35 PM, one Hindu gentleman came seen from Shashi Mohalla towards police party, who is carrying polythene pouch in his right hand. After seeing the police party he turn back and started walking fast. They suspect and caught with the help of police officials. During checking of said polythene bag 9.79 grams Heroin has been recovered from his possession. During investigation he disclosed his name as Ravi Kumar S/o Late Ram Parshad R/o H. No. 91, DMC, U.T, Chandigarh Age-48 years. During the course of investigation accused Ravi Kumar has been produced before the Hon’ble Court.
