MAHENDERGARH-A two-day national seminar focusing on Teacher Education and NEP 2020: Prospects and Challenges began today 10.06.2024 at Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh. Prof. Deepti Dharmani, Vice-Chancellor, Chaudhary Bansi Lal University (CBLU), Bhiwani was the chief guest in the programme. The program was chaired by the Vice-Chancellor of CUH, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar. On the first day of the event Prof. Sarika Sharma from Jamia Millia Islamia; Prof. Gaurav Singh from NCERT; Prof. V.N. Yadav and Prof. R.S. Yadav were present as expert speakers.

Prof. Deepti Dharmani said that it is necessary to change the process of education in accordance with the changing conditions. She said that a teacher is an information provider, resource generator and knowledge creator. Prof. Deepti in her address also drew attention to the changes in the education system in view of the increasing use of information technology and technological development in the changing environment. Prof. Deepti said that along with the modern changes in the new education policy, the inclusion of Indian knowledge system and value added education is also necessary.

Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar mentioned the seven main qualities of teachers and said that in today's time, technology and traditional education system are being combined seamlessly. In reference to the NEP, the Vice-Chancellor said that this policy basically favours practicality and gives importance to practical teaching-training to develop the understanding of the subject. He said that technical skills, subject knowledge and practical understanding are essential for teachers and through this the goals of the new education policy can be achieved.
Prof. Ravindra Pal Ahlawat, Dean, School of Education presented the welcome speech while Prof. Parmod Kumar briefed the participants about the seminar. The introduction of the chief guest was given by the coordinator of the seminar, Prof. Dinesh Chahal while the introduction of the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar was given by Prof. Nand Kishor. During the program, the stage conduction and thanks giving was done by the seminar coordinator Dr. Renu Yadav. On this occasion, Prof. Sanjiv Kumar, Dean Academics; Prof. Surendra Singh; Prof. Pawan Kumar Maurya; Prof. B.P. Yadav were present along with all the teachers, students and researchers of teacher education department.
