Chandigarh, May 22 - Haryana Chief Electoral Officer, Sh. Anurag Agarwal said that there should be wheelchairs at the polling stations of the state so that PwD voters do not face any kind of problem. Apart from this, adequate arrangements for electricity, drinking water, and protection from the sun should be made at the polling stations, along with the availability of ORS, medical, and paramedical staff.

Haryana Chief Electoral Officer, Sh. Anurag Agarwal said this while holding a review meeting regarding the arrangements for Lok Sabha elections 2024 with the District Election Officers and AROs through video conferencing from Chandigarh late in the evening on Tuesday.

Sh. Agarwal said that during the Lok Sabha elections 2024, there will be two-level webcasting monitoring at polling stations, which includes state control rooms and district control rooms. Apart from this, the Election Commission of India will also monitor through webcasting. If any anti-social elements is found hindering the election process on the polling day, strict action will be taken.

He stated that the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections is scheduled for May 25. In light of this, more vigilance should be exercised at checkpoints to prevent illegal liquor, narcotics, cash, and illegal weapons. Apart from this, monitoring teams formed in districts should become more active.

Sh. Anurag Agarwal said that FST and SST teams in districts should be active and continue the checking campaign 24 hours a day.

The Chief Electoral Officer said that as per the rules of the Election Commission of India, candidates or political parties must obtain a certificate from MCMC before publishing ads in print media on the day of voting and the day before. He said that voting for the Lok Sabha will be held on May 25, so candidates must get a certificate for proposed advertisements on May 24 and May 25 before publishing them in print media. Otherwise, it will be considered a violation of the Model Code of Conduct. He further said that certification must be obtained from MCMC immediately after filing the nomination for broadcasting ads on TV and local cable TV. Advertisements must be submitted to MCMC in the prescribed format two days before the date of printing or broadcasting.

Haryana State Crime Branch Achieves Major Success, Brings Justice to Family Awaiting Justice for 2 Years

Bhiwani: Two Accused in the Murder of a Missing 16-Year-Old Boy from Tosham, Bhiwani Sent to Jail

Chandigarh, May 22 - The Haryana Police State Crime Branch has solved the blind murder case of Ankit, a 16-year-old boy who went missing nearly 2 years ago, and has brought justice to the victim's family members. The family, residents of Tosham in Bhiwani district, had been wandering in search of their missing son for the past two years or so. Despite investigating various aspects of the case, no concrete clues had been found. On December 2023, the case was handed over to the Hisar State Crime Branch, which solved the case in less than a month and arrested the accused. Ankit's body has been recovered on the basis of the accused's identification. The Director General of Police Sh Shatrujeet Kapur congratulated the State Crime Branch team for this achievement.

What was the case?

Ankit, a resident of Tosham in Bhiwani district, used to work as a shepherd for a person named Harish Kumar in the village. On July 16, 2022, Ankit went alone to graze 50 sheep and goats as usual. Meanwhile, Harish Kumar went to graze sheep and goats with Ankit due to some other work. When Harish Kumar returned home late in the evening, he found that 20 of his sheep and goats had returned but Ankit and 30 sheep and goats could not be found even after searching a lot. A case was registered in connection with Ankit's disappearance at the concerned police station.

The surrounding area was searched and CCTV cameras were scanned to find the missing Ankit. The case was investigated from different angles for about 2 years but no clue of Ankit could be found. Subsequently, on March 21, 2024, Dy SP Atmaram of Hisar State Crime Branch was appointed as the chairman of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in the case and Inspector Shekhar Singh, Incharge State Crime Branch Bhiwani and ASI Sanjay Singh, Incharge AHTU were appointed as investigators and members of the SIT.

The team constituted in the case started re-investigation. All the evidence in the case was studied in detail. On investigation of different aspects, the involvement of Sanjay and Sandeep alias Sandia, residents of Tosham, was found. Sanjay Jangra was a resident near the furniture house while Sandeep alias Sandia was a resident near the herbal park of Tosham. The team constituted in the case interrogated Sanjay thoroughly on the basis of evidence. Ankit's body was recovered on the basis of the identification of the accused Sanjay. The postmortem of the body of the deceased Ankit was conducted by a board of doctors on April 14, 2024. A case has been registered against the accused under Section 302, 201, 389, 411 of IPC Section 34 and investigation going on.

Voting is necessary to strengthen democracy - Prof. B.R. Kamboj

Students motivated to vote through street play and awareness rally

Chandigarh, May 22 - Voter awareness rally was organized at Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar. The students also made people aware about voting through street drama. Vice Chancellor of the University Professor B.R. Kamboj flagged off the rally.

Sharing more details in this regard, Professor B.R. Kamboj said that voters play an important role in democracy. The initiative of making voters aware about voting through student awareness rallies has been taken so that the voting percentage can be increased. Voters should understand the importance of their precious vote and reach the booth to vote to strengthen democracy, he said.

Professor B.R. Kamboj said that various programs are being organized by the University to make the voters aware so that no voter is deprived of exercising his franchise. Students also made voters aware about voting through door to door programmes. In this series, various competitions including poster making, debate, slogan writing were organized by the university, he informed.

In Haryana, voting for the Lok Sabha General Elections 2024 and the Karnal Assembly By-election will be held on May 25, 2024

Chandigarh, May 22 - In Haryana, voting for the Lok Sabha General Elections 2024 and the Karnal Assembly By-election will be held on May 25, 2024. On the polling day, i.e., May 25 (Saturday), employees of various shops and commercial establishments falling with the jurisdiction area of the State of Haryana, enrolled as voters of the State, will be granted a holiday with wages so that they can exercise their voting rights.

Furthermore, under section 65(2) of the Factories Act, 1948, workers employed in factories situated in Haryana, who are registered voters in Haryana, will also be granted leave for voting on May 25. In this regard, a notification has been issued by the Haryana Labor Department.

The neighbouring states have also declared leave for the Haryana voters.

45,576 EVMs will be used for Lok Sabha elections in Haryana

20,031 polling stations have been set up in the state

91 counting centers have been set up at 44 locations

Chandigarh, May 22 – Haryana Chief Electoral Officer, Sh. Anurag Agarwal said that a total of 45,576 EVMs (ballot units) will be used in the state for the Lok Sabha general elections and the by-election of Karnal Assembly constituency. Along with this, 24,039 control units and 26,040 VVPAT machines will be used. In VVPAT, the voter can see the vote given by him.

He informed that a total of 20,031 polling stations have been set up in the state. These include 19,812 permanent and 219 auxiliary polling stations. 5,470 polling stations have been set up in urban areas and 14,342 polling stations have been set up in rural areas. He informed that 176 model polling stations have been established. There are 99 polling stations which will be operated entirely by women staff. Apart from this, 96 polling stations manned by youth employees, and 71 polling stations manned by Person with Disability (PwD) employees. All basic facilities and other necessary arrangements have been made in view of the heat wave in all the polling stations. Also, 91 counting centers have been set up at a total of 44 locations in the state.

Total 2,00,76,768 registered voters in the state

Sh. Agarwal said that there are a total of 2,00,76,768 registered voters in the state, which includes 1,06,52,345 men, 94,23,956 women and 467 transgender voters. Apart from this, there are 762 overseas voters. He said that a total of 2,63,887 voters in the state are above 85 years of age. Apart from this, there are 1,50,277 PwD voters and 1,11,143 service voters.

Home voting is almost 92 percent complete

The Chief Electoral Officer said that for the convenience of voters above 85 years of age and PwD voters in the state, a provision has been made to cast their vote from home. For this, the department employees get the consent of the voter by filling 12D form. 9024 Form 12D have been approved by the returning officers. Out of these, 8324 i.e. about 92 percent voters cast their vote and department employees collected their postal ballots.

Marriage like invitations are being sent to voters urging them to vote

Sh. Anurag Agarwal said that this time a unique initiative has been taken to increase the voting percentage, under which invitation letters are being sent to the voters like a marriage. About 50 lakh invitation cards have been printed. BLOs are giving this invitation letter to every family along with the voter slip. Voting will take place on May 25 from 7 am to 6 pm, he said.

D.El.Ed. Examination Results for February/March 2024 Announced - Dr. V.P. Yadav

Chandigarh, May 22 - The Haryana School Education Board, Bhiwani, has announced the results of the D.El.Ed. examinations held in February/March 2024 for the entry years 2019-21, 2020-22, 2021-23, and 2022-24. These results pertain to the first year (re-appear/mercy chance/special opportunity) and the second year (re-appear/mercy chance/special opportunity) exams. Concerned student-teachers can view their results on the board's official website, www.bseh.org.in, via the provided link.

Providing this information, Board Chairman, Dr. V.P. Yadav stated that a total of 10,853 student-teachers appeared for the D.El.Ed. exams held in February/March 2024 across the state.

In the admission year 2019-21 first year (re-appear/mercy chance/special occasion), 12 student-teachers appeared, out of which 09 passed, whose pass percentage was 75 percent. In the admission year 2019-21 second year (re-appear/mercy chance/special occasion), 30 student-teachers appeared, out of which 23 passed, whose pass percentage was 76.67.

The Board Chairman said that D.El.Ed. in the admission year 2020-22 first year (re-appear/mercy chance/special occasion), 56 student-teachers appeared, out of which 48 passed, whose pass percentage was 85.71. D.El.Ed. in the admission year 2020-22 second year (re-appear/mercy chance/special occasion), 140 students-teachers appeared, out of which 105 passed, whose pass percentage was 75.00.

He informed that D.El.Ed. in the admission year 2021-23 first year (re-appear/mercy chance/special occasion), 1129 students-teachers appeared, out of which 654 passed, whose pass percentage was 57.93. D.El.Ed. In the admission year 2021-23 second year (re-appear/mercy chance/special occasion), 2,435 students-teachers appeared, out of which 1,632 passed, whose pass percentage was 67.02.

He further said that D.El.Ed. in the admission year 2022-24 first year (re-appear/mercy chance/special occasion), 7,049 students-teachers appeared, out of which 4,826 passed, whose pass percentage was 68.46.

Dr. Yadav further informed that student-teachers wishing to have their answer sheets re-checked or re-evaluated can apply online with the prescribed fee within 20 days from the date of result declaration. Performance sheets for each institution will be sent to the respective institution's login ID, and application forms for upcoming exams for re-appear student-teachers will also be filled online through the institution's login ID.

He added that re-appear exams for the entry years 2021-23 and 2022-24 will be conducted in July 2024. The re-appear exam fee is Rs. 800 per subject. For multiple subjects, the fee is an additional Rs. 200 per subject, with a maximum of Rs. 2,000 per student-teacher. The concerned institutions can apply online without a late fee from May 27 to June 10, with a late fee of Rs. 100 from June 11 to June 18, with a late fee of Rs. 300 from June 19 to June 25, and with a late fee of Rs. 1000 from June 26 to July 2, 2024.
