CHANDIGARH, 20.04.24-Thalassaemic Charitable Trust serving thalassaemic patients since four decades Thalassaemic Charitable Trust organised its 297th Blood Donation Camp at Patel Market, Sector Chandigarh on 20th April 2024 in coordination with Deptt. of Transfusion Medicine PGIMER. Thalassaemic patients needs regular blood transfusions after 15-20 days and the requirement of blood has been increasing day-by-day, as our thalassaemics are grown up now and requires more quantity of blood. Hon’ble 63 voluntary blood donors registered for blood donation, in which 13 blood donors did not donated blood due to various reasons.

The camp was successfully ended under the guidance of Prof(Dr.) Ratti Ram Sharma-HOD, Deptt. of Transfusion Medicine PGI and their respective team. Sh. Rajinder Kalra, Member Secretary of the Trust emphasised the need for voluntary blood donation to save precious lives needing blood support. On behalf of the Thalassaemic Charitable Trust, he thanked all blood donors and the team of Department of Transfusion Medicine, PGIMER Chandigarh for this camp. Next blood donation camp will be held on 8th May 2024 to commemorate International Thalassaemia Day at Community Centre, adjoining Mandir (backside of State Bank of India/Gol Market) PGIMER Chandigarh.
