Chandigarh: 08.03.24-Desh Bhagat Radio FM 107.8 Aap Ki Awaaz and State Bank of India Officers Association and Desh Bhagat Global Services organized a walkathon dedicated to International Women's Day. On this occasion, SBI Chief General Manager Vinod Jaiswal was the chief guest and Desh Bhagat Radio station head Sangmitra was the special guest. Before flagging off the walkathon, Vinod Jaiswal highlighted the importance of International Women's Day and informed about the schemes being run by the Bank for the welfare of women.

Pro. Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University Tajinder Kaur congratulated everyone on Women's Day and said that no girl in the society should be deprived of education. She said that Desh Bhagat University is committed to help girls from needy families in education.
Station Head of Desh Bhagat Radio Sangmitra congratulated everyone on International Women's Day. She said that today's woman is not abla but the progressive woman of the country. RJ Sangmitra said that Desh Bhagat Radio runs many programs to make women aware. She said DB radio program encourages the rest of the women by presenting meeting programs with successful women in social welfare, doctors, civil services, lawyers, judges, police officers and other progressive fields of the society.

On this occasion Mr Sanjay Sharma general Secretary SBIOA, CHD, officers and staff members of SBI were present.
The awareness run organized on Women's Day started from State Bank Local Head Office Sector 17 and passed through Matka Chowk and ended at Sukhna Lake. The children, women and elders of the city participated in it with great enthusiasm. Refreshments,T-shirts, caps and certificates were awarded to the participants of the race.
