Nakodar (Jalandhar), February 28:Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Wednesday gave a bonanza of Rs 283 crore to Jalandhar residents by kicking off several development projects.

The Chief Minister, while addressing the gathering after dedicating/ laying foundation stone of the projects worth Rs 283 crore here today, said that the Lok Sabha MP elected from Jalandhar last year has worked tirelessly for the welfare of the people and the development of the district. He said that the festivals of joy had ceased to take place during the previous regimes. Bhagwant Singh Mann but the atmosphere has changed after the AAP government has assumed charge in the state.

The Chief Minister said that since 2022 the so called big leaders of the state have been sent to political oblivion by the people. He said that these leaders had mercilessly looted the people during their tenure during which people had ousted them. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that these arrogant leaders have been trounced by the people due to their anti-people stance.

The Chief Minister said that the traditional parties are envious of him because he hails from a common family and is working tirelessly to ensure welfare of people. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that these leaders had always believed that they have divine right to rule the state due to which they are not able to digest that a common man is running the state efficiently. He said that these leaders have befooled the people for a long time but now people are not getting swayed by their misleading propaganda.

The Chief Minister said that it is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction that 90% consumers in the state are getting zero power bill due to pro-people decisions of the state government. He said that to impart quality health services to people, the state government has set up 664 Aam Aadmi Clinics in Punjab adding that 150 more such clinics will be dedicated to the people of the state very soon. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that around one crore people have so far availed the facilities of free healthcare in these clinics adding that this is a new revolution in the healthcare sector adding that efforts are afoot to give a facelift to this sector.

The Chief Minister said that in coming two three days he will expose the big leaders of the state who had used the state exchequer for their personal use. He said that these leaders had mercilessly plundered the wealth of Punjab for which they will be duly punished. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that in the coming days the ugly faces of these leaders will be unveiled before the general public for their sins.

The Chief Minister said that our great freedom fighters had envisioned a class less democracy where elected representatives will work as real servants of people to ensure their well being. However, he bemoaned that in last 75 years these elected representatives have turned into political executives by irrelevantly drawing huge salaries and pensions from the state exchequer. Bhagwant Mann said that the entire burden of this facility to these leaders was on the taxpayers as their money was wasted on ensuring multiple pensions to these leaders instead of being used for the public welfare.

The Chief Minister said that in the coming budget no new burden will be levied on the people of the state and the pro-people budget will give impetus to ongoing development of the state. He said that the move is aimed at ensuring that people are immensely benefitted from it adding that no stone will be left unturned for well being of common man. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that strenuous efforts are being made to benefit every strata of society and this will provide dividends in the coming days.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is working tirelessly for the development of the state and prosperity of its people. Training his guns at his predecessors, he said that these leaders like Captain Amarinder Singh had built huge palaces by amassing whopping wealth by misusing their official positions adding that the walls of these palatial palaces were high and the gates usually remained closed for the people. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that these leaders remained inaccessible to the people due to which they were ousted by the masses.

The Chief Minister said that during the previous regimes the youth of the state were rendered aimless but now the state government has given more than 40,000 jobs to youth. He said that every job is being given in a fair and transparent manner adding that it is being given only to the eligible youth. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the move is aimed at making youth an equal partner in the socio economic development of the state.

The Chief Minister said that previous governments at the centre and state played friendly match with each other for plundering the public wealth. He said that they robbed people more than Britishers people had no other option except electing them again and again. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that but now in form of AAP people have found a catalyst of change in the country and people are rejecting BJP and Congress by opting for AAP.

Taking a jibe over PM Narendra Modi’s one nation, one election stance, the Chief Minister said that why Modi is not pursuing the agenda of one nation, one education. He said that there is a huge parity in the education being imparted at convent schools and the government schools but unfortunately no one has ever paid heed to it. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that Modi who is master phraseology has only befooled the people by coining the slogans like ache din and others.

The Chief Minister solicited fulsome support and cooperation of people to strengthen arms of AAP for bringing the agenda of welfare and development at the national centre stage. He said that the credit of bringing common people at the centre stage of Indian polity goes to Arvind Kejriwal adding that he has brought paradigm shift in politics by introducing value based politics by rejecting the divisive politics. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that people of Punjab should support the AAP in coming polls to ensure that its strength is enhanced at national level so that they can raise the issue of Punjab vehemently.

Taking a jibe over the Punjab Bachao yatra of Akali Dal, the Chief Minister said that the real name of this gimmick of Akali Dal is parivar bachao yatra adding he dared the Akali leaders to explain that after looting the state for 15 years, from whom they are trying to save the state from. He said that Akalis have plundered the state mercilessly besides bruising the psyche of Punjabis emotionally and patronizing several mafias in the state. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that people are well aware of the dubious character of the Akalis and Badal family due to which their theatricals won’t work now.

The Chief Minister said that the people have not forgotten the dubious role of Akali Dal as they had allowed the sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji besides patronizing the drug trade in the state. He said that the hands of Akali leadership are drenched with the blood of Punjab and Punjabis adding that people will never forgive them for these sins. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that time has come when people must teach them a lesson by routing them out during the ensuing Lok Sabha polls.

The Chief Minister said that in the coming days industrial sector will also be given cheap power for which the state government is already working on it. He said that this will boost industrialisation in the state and open new avenues of the employment for the coming days. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this will put the state on trajectory of high growth and give fillip to overall development of the state.

The Chief Minister also announced that Investment facilitation centre will be soon opened in Jalandhar to facilitate the industrialists and traders of the Majha and Doaba region. He said that this will facilitate the traders and industrialists in a big way by ensuring that they don’t have to go to Chandigarh for their petty works. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that every decision of the state government is aimed at ensuring the welfare of every section of society.

Earlier, the Chief Minister also inaugurated the newly constructed Mother Child Hospital and said that more such hospitals will be dedicated to the people in the coming days. He said that this 30 bedded new maternal and child wing has been constructed at approximate cost of Rs 6 Crore which will provide better health care facilities to the people adding that Doctors specialised in women health care will remain posted at this hospital. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this hospital will provide proper check-up of antenatal, high risk pregnancies and will ensure their safe deliveries including caesarean deliveries by expert doctors and staff adding that it will have NICU facility for the low birth weight and pre-term born babies under the same roof.

Chandigarh, February 28:Punjab Information and Public Relations Minister S. Chetan Singh Jouramajra, on Wednesday, said that Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann-led government is actively promoting the state's cultural heritage and tourism to position Punjab on the global tourism map.

While attending the silver jubilee cultural program 'Bol Punjab De-2024', organised by the Punjab Secretariat Cultural Society in collaboration with North Zone Cultural Center Patiala here at Tagore Theatre, the Chief Guest S. Chetan Singh Jouramajra emphasized that Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann's vision of transforming Punjab into 'Rangla Punjab' is comprises of well-being and prosperity of all sections of the community, particularly government employees, who play a pivotal role in realizing the CM's vision. He reiterated, Mann government is committed to the welfare of employees, highlighting that the recruitment of over 40,000 youngsters in various government positions has been done to strengthen the departments.

Commending the management team for organizing such an impressive celebration, the Cabinet Minister acknowledged that while the government is promoting Punjab's rich cultural heritage, it wouldn't be possible without the support of the state's people.

Davinder Singh Jugni, Kulwant Singh, Bhupinder Singh Jhajj, Kamal Sharma, Narvinder Singh, Jagjit Singh, Davinder Singh, Gaurav, Sikandar Singh, Balwant Singh Bhangu, Charanjit Singh, Lakhwinder Singh Lakhi, Dholi Jagtar Singh and others have thrilled the audience with their steps of the Malwai Gidha. Similarly, Folk dance 'Luddi' was presented by Uma Rani, Kulwinder Kaur, Mandeep Kaur, Mary, Narinder Kaur, Kanchan, Gagan, Jasveer Kaur, Harpreet Kaur, Kulveer Kaur and Dholi Surmukh Singh.

A comedy short play "Main Sach Boldi" written and directed by Rupinder Pal Rupi and Mr. Raman Mittal was also portrayed, featuring humorous performances by Rupinder Pal Rupi, Davinder Singh Jugni, Sukhchain Singh Khaira, Gurinder Singh, Kamal Sharma, Sandeep Kamboj, Surita Sharma, Sukhjit Kaur Ginni and Sarabjit Singh.

Surita Sharma and Navi Sharma presented Punjabi Melody Dance, while folk dance 'Jindua' was presented by Sukhjit Kaur, Hardeep Kaur, Amandeep Kaur, Jaswinder Kaur, Ravneet Kaur, Gagan, Sarabjit Singh, Dharminder Singh, Deepinder Singh Saini, Tushar Sethi, Karan and Gagan.

Religious song 'Ibaadat' was presented by Singer Deep Saaz and a semi-classical melody was performed by Tushar Sethi and Disha. Raman Mittal and Suneha conducted the stage.

CHETAN SINGH JOURAMAJRA DEDICATES 12 PUBLIC MINING SITES, BRINGING THE COUNT TO 72

'Over 151 LMT of sand and gravel is still available on both PMS and CMS sites'

Balachaur/Chandigarh, February 28:Punjab Mining and Geology Minister S. Chetan Singh Jauramajra, on Wednesday, dedicated 12 more public mining sites (PMS) to ensure the availability of sand at affordable prices, raising the count of public mining sites to 72 across the state.

Following the inauguration of the public mining site in ADB Bela Tajowal of Tehsil Balachaur (SBS Nagar), the Cabinet Minister stated that Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann led government had already inaugurated 60 public mining sites and 38 commercial mining sites clusters, providing sand to the public at Rs.5.50/cft. The Punjab government has set a target to open total of 150 public mining sites and 100 commercial mining sites soon, he added.

While the Cabinet Minister inaugurated three public mining sites in Dugri/Niara, Khoja/Niara and ADB Bela Tajowal in district SBS Nagar, six public mining sites in Akkuwala, Changli Jadid, Chugatewala-2, Mamdot Uttar, Nazamwala 1, 2 & 3 and Gillanwala in district Ferozepur and one each PMS in village Kaila (district Moga), Thamuwal Rampur (Jalandhar) and Khanpur (district Amritsar) were simultaneously inaugurated by the respective MLAs and authorities.

He informed that the total extracted quantity to date is 15.91 LMT out of the total capacity 47.65 LMT from 72 public mining sites. Similarly, 38 commercial mining sites clusters have a planned extraction quantity of 136 LMT, with 17 LMT of sand and gravel already extracted. Over 151 LMT of sand and gravel is still available on both PMS and CMS sites, he added.

S. Chetan Singh Jouramajra said that public mining sites allow the public to excavate and sell sand at their own, contributing to increased supply and subsequently reducing market rates.

Divulging the details of the measures taken to check the illegal mining, the Mining and Geology Minister said, "We are taking strict action against illegal mining activities and so far, 945 FIRs have been lodged from April 2022 to Jan 2024 as per the provisions of mining Act and rules in the state."

TOURSIM MINISTER ANMOL GAGAN MANN CONGRATULATES OFFICIALS FOR GETTING ENTRY IN GUINNESS BOOK OF WORLD RECORDS

Chandigarh, February 28-Punjab Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Anmol Gagan Mann on Wednesday congratulated the officials of Taj Group and Tourism Department for ensuring an entry in Guinness Book of World Records with largest ever Parantha made during Rangla Punjabi Festival held at Amritsar.

Ms. Mann said that such initiatives of the department would go a long way to showcase the state on the tourism map. It is pertinent to mention here that the 37.5 kg Parantha was prepared by chefs of Taj Hotel and distributed among the audience who came to see Rangla Punjab Festival being organized by the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann at Sri Amritsar Sahib to promote tourism and promote cultural activities in the state.

On this occasion, The Chairman of Organising Committee Cum Deputy Commissioner Amritsar Mr. Ghansham Thori, Director Tourism Department Mrs. Neeru Katyal Gupta and the Superintending Engineer of the Department Bhupinder Singh Chana received the certificate from the organizers of the Guinness Book of World Records.

It was practiced for several consecutive days by the Taj staff before trying to break the record. Seven Hundred kilo of wheat flour was used for preparation of paratha. Apart from this, two pans of three quintals each, which were 5.10 feet, were specially designed from Delhi, while a gas stove with 20 burners was used to cook the Parantha. Apart from this, two Rollers of 22 kg each were also specially prepared to roll out this gigantic Parantha.

20 CADETS OF MAHARAJA RANJIT SINGH AFPI CLEAR SSB

Chandigarh, February 28:Adding yet another feather in the cap of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (MRSAFPI), SAS Nagar (Mohali), as many as 20 cadets of the institute have cleared the Services Selection Board’s (SSB) Interview in the last two months. Now, these cadets are awaiting joining letters to join National Defence Academy (NDA)/ equivalent Training Academies to become commissioned officers in the Indian Armed Forces.

Revealing this here today, Punjab Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Minister Mr Aman Arora said that these twenty cadets of the MRSAFPI include Madhav Sharma, Vivaan Sooden, Anmol Banka, Mannan Akash, Mankaran Singh Dhillon, Sachkirat Singh, Karanveer Singh Gill, Rajanpreet Singh Sekhon, Husanpreet Singh, Anmol, Aryan Kalia, Akkireddy Sai Vedansh, Navjot Singh Gill, Pranav Thakur, Suryansh Thakur, Shivom Ghai, Jobanjeet Singh, Prathyush Singh Bedi, Gunjot Singh and Gursher Singh Cheema. Two cadets, Suryansh Thakur and Akkireddy Sai Vedansh, out of the above have cleared the SSB for both the NDA as well as the Technical Entry Scheme (TES).

Congratulating the cadets for clearing the SSB, Mr. Aman Arora said that Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann led the Punjab Government has been striving to fulfill the aspirations of the state youth, who want to join the defence services. It's a matter of great pride for the state as the huge strength of cadets clearing for the NDA.

The Institute with a success rate of 57% is one of the most successful institutes of its kind in the country, Major General Ajay H. Chauhan, VSM, Director of the Institute said while wishing the cadets the very best for future. He further informed that the selection for the 14th Course of MRSAFPI has also been completed and the course will commence on 01 April, 2024 at MRSAFPI.
