Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal met with five Delhi-based para-athletes who won medals for India in the 16th International Dragon Boat Championship(IDBF), 2023 held in Pattaya, Thailand, at his residence on Monday. The CM congratulated these athletes for winning medals for the country and encouraged them to bring more medals in the future. During this interaction, the athletes drew the CM's attention to the lack of adequate facilities in Delhi for boat competitions. Upon their request, the CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal instructed Sports Minister Ms. Atishi to ensure necessary facilities are provided earnestly. Furthermore, Chief Minister affirmed his commitment to the athletes and regarding the development of water sports and training facilities for both the Olympics and Paralympics in the quest for gold medals.
CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal stated using ‘X’(formerly Twitter), “Met all the para-athletes of India who won gold medals in the World Dragon water sports championship and live in Delhi. These players practice at Sonia Vihar Water Sports Club. I have given orders to the concerned minister that the government will provide all the facilities that these players need to prepare for the future. I wish all the players all the best for the future.”
The para-athletes who won medals in the 16th IDBF Dragon water sports championship informed CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal that they are not receiving adequate facilities in Delhi to prepare for boat competitions. The para-athletes mentioned a lack of suitable lakes and boats for rowing in Delhi, as well as the absence of a training center. The athletes stated that they don't have sufficient equipment for training for competitions like the Olympics. They expressed that with better equipment and infrastructure, they could perform well in events like the Olympics.
CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal taking the issues of para athletes seriously, directed Sports Minister Ms. Atishi who was present there, to ensure necessary facilities are provided. The Chief Minister also expressed his earnestness in providing additional facilities in the future, enabling athletes residing in Delhi to have better preparation for competitions like the Olympics and Para Olympics."
CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal assured of better facilities for the athletes. He continued, "We are with you, and whatever is possible, we will surely assist. Efforts will be made to establish a training center for boat athletes soon. The Delhi government has always promoted sports. Several initiatives are being taken to ensure that athletes can perform excellently in international competitions like the Olympics and bring more medals, thereby making a name for Delhi and India. To ensure the quest of Olympic and Para Olympics glory and sports in general, the Delhi Government will provide every possible support to the athletes and para-athletes "
In Delhi, there is a lack of adequate facilities for preparing for water sports competitions. Delhi-based athletes who participate in water sports competitions train at the Sonia Vihar Water Sports Club in Wazirabad, but there is a shortage of facilities at the center for the international level of preparation. Therefore, these athletes have to go to other states for practice. They have expressed that if they receive the necessary facilities in Delhi, they can better prepare and perform outstandingly in international competitions.
The selection of five para-athletes residing in Delhi for the Indian team took place during the 16th IDBF Dragon Water Sports Championship 2023 organized in Pattaya, Thailand, by the International Dragon Boat Federation. This competition was held from August 7th to 13th in the city of Rayong, located in Pattaya, Thailand. Two events were held in this competition, in which the five athletes from Delhi performed exceptionally well, winning gold, silver, and bronze medals. These athletes had expressed their desire to meet with CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal, and the CM, accepting their request, met with all of these differently-abled athletes at his residence on Monday.
*These para-athletes have won medals in boat competitions:*
1. Praveen Kumar:
Praveen Kumar, residing in Shahadara, Delhi, won a gold medal in the 2000-meter PD-2 race and a bronze medal in the 2000-meter PD-1 race, bringing honor to Delhi and the country.
2. Krishna Kumar Samania:
Krishna Kumar Samania, hailing from Madanpur Khadar, Delhi, secured a gold medal in the 2000-meter PD-2 race and a bronze medal in the 2000-meter PD-1 race.
3. Rohit Kumar:
Rohit Kumar, who hails from Ghonda, Delhi, achieved a gold medal in the 2000-meter PD-2 race and a bronze medal in the 2000-meter PD-1 race.
4. Vijay Kumar:
Vijay Kumar, from New Kondli, Delhi, earned a silver medal in the 500-meter PD-2 race and a bronze medal in the 2000-meter PD-1 race.
5. Vinai Kumar Kush:
Vinai Kumar Kush, who lives in Bhajanpura, Delhi, secured a silver medal in the 500-meter PD-2 race and a bronze medal in the 2000-meter PD-1 race.

*NEW DELHI* 25.09.23-Continuing her regular inspection visits across the city, PWD Minister Atishi visited various sections of Ring Road between Delhi Vidhan Sabha to Delhi Secretariat including ISBT Kashmere Gate today. During her visit, she emphasized the urgent need for improved maintenance of roads, footpaths, and drainage systems on the stretch. Atishi issued a stern directive to officials to prepare an action plan for the improvement of the road stretch in a phased manner within one week. She also expressed her concern about the poor condition of the Rajghat subway and cautioned engineers about the consequences of laxity in the maintenance of it.
Minister Atishi reaffirmed the commitment of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's administration to transforming Delhi's roads into world-class infrastructure and reiterated that there would be "zero tolerance" for negligence in their maintenance. She said, “This road stretch between Delhi Vidhan Sabha to Delhi Secretariat is extremely important as it connects key locations such as Vidhan Sabha, Raj Niwas, CM House, Delhi Secretariat, and Delhi University, serving as a daily transit route for lakhs of commuters.”
She directed the officials to ensure the maintenance of drainage systems, horticulture, footpath redevelopment tailored to pedestrian needs and safety, trimming of trees obstructing footpath movement, pavement leveling, road recarpeting, replacement of broken kerbstones, and the application of fresh blacktopping to roads on high priority.
In light of the existing issues, Minister Atishi admonished officials and directed them to conduct a comprehensive inspection of the entire road stretch and submit a comprehensive report on priority.
PWD Minister Atishi said, "The Kejriwal Government is resolutely committed to elevating the quality of our city's roads to meet global standards. It is the responsibility of PWD engineers to focus on diligently improving roads within their areas. Any negligence will lead to stringent action as the Kejriwal Government would not tolerate any lapses in this regard.”
While inspecting the Rajghat subway, the PWD Minister found that it was poorly maintained and required immediate attention. She sternly reprimanded the officials concerned and directed them to ensure that the subway is cleaned and maintained as a high priority. She said, “Rajghat is of high importance to the whole country. In Delhi, it is an important landmark and any negligence in its maintenance and smooth operation will not be tolerated.” She instructed the officials to ensure that cleanliness is maintained on a regular basis and to repair the tiles and lighting in the subway.

New Delhi:25.09.23-The Delhi government, led by CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal, has vigorously started working on measures to control air pollution. Environment Minister Shri Gopal Rai today held a meeting with more than 200 representatives of government and private construction agencies and directed them to follow 14-point guidelines to prevent dust pollution. Strict action will be taken against government and private agencies not following the norms. He further said that it is mandatory for all Government and Private Construction agencies to provide on-site training to construction workers regarding the guidelines. The Government is preparing a winter action plan on 15 focus points to tackle pollution in winter, including curbing dust pollution. It will be mandatory for the construction agency to install anti-smog guns on sites having construction area equal to or more than 5,000 square meters.
In the meeting, 14-point guidelines to prevent pollution were explained in detail to all government and private construction agencies and instructions were given to implement them. During this meeting, suggestions were also taken from the representatives of the construction agencies. Environment Minister Shri Gopal Rai directed all government and private construction agencies to provide on-site training to construction workers regarding the guidelines. Gopal Rai said that pollution is an issue related to our lives and our children's lives. Everyone has to fight together to save our breath. Therefore, everyone will have to fulfill their responsibilities with full honesty.
14-point guidelines issued to government and private construction agencies:
1. Dust/wind breaking walls of appropriate height around the periphery of the construction site.
2. Installation of Anti Smog Gun(s) (for≥ 5000 sqmt built construction area)
3. Tarpaulin or green net on scaffolding around the area under construction and the building.
4. All vehicles, including carrying construction material and construction debris of any kind, should be cleaned and wheels washed.
5. All vehicles carrying construction material and construction debris should be fully covered and protected
6. All construction debris and construction material of any kind should be stored on the site and not dumped on public roads or pavements.
7. No loose soil or sand or Construction & Demolition Waste or any other construction material that causes dust shall be left uncovered.
8. No grinding and cutting of building materials in open areas. Wet jets should be used in grinding and stone cutting.
9. Unpaved surfaces and areas with loose soil should be adequately sprinkled with water to suppress dust.
10. Roads leading to or at construction sites must be paved and blacktopped i.e. metallic roads (for >20,000 m2 built up area).
11. Construction and demolition waste should be recycled on-site or transported to authorized recycling facility and due record of the same should be maintained.
12. Every worker working on the construction site and involved in loading, unloading and carriage of construction material and construction debris should be provided with an anti-dust mask to prevent inhalation of dust particle.
13. Arrangement should be provided for medical help, investigation and treatment to workers involved in the construction of building and carry of construction material and debris relatable to dust emission.
14. Dust mitigation measures shall be displayed prominently at the construction site for easy public viewing.

NEW DELHI:25.09.23-Health Minister Shri Saurabh Bhardwaj took stock of the health arrangements in the government dispensary built in Delhi High Court. He inspected the facilities provided in the dispensary with Hon’ble High Court Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva on Monday morning at 10:00 AM in the presence of the lawyers of the court. During the inspection, Hon’ble Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva appreciated the medical arrangements being provided by the Delhi Government on the court premises. During the inspection, Shri SK Jain, Special Secretary (H&FW); Dr. Suresh Kumar, Medical Director Lok Nayak Hospital; Dr. Vandana Bagga, DHS; Dr. Sudha Sachdeva CDMO New Delhi District; Dr. Neeta Single Additional CDMO New Delhi District; Dr. KJS Bansal, Incharge, Medical and Health Center, Delhi High Court; Shri Mohit Mathur, President, Delhi High Court Bar Association; Shri Sandeep Sharma, Secretary, Delhi High Court Bar Association were also present.

To ensure its smooth functioning and to keep the arrangements well organized, Health Minister Shri Saurabh Bhardwaj is continuously inspecting different hospitals and dispensaries of Delhi. In this series, Shri Saurabh Bhardwaj inspected the Delhi Government's dispensary located in the Delhi High Court. A few days ago, he inspected the Delhi Government's dispensary located in the Supreme Court. Afterward, the Delhi High Court Bar Association requested that Shri Saurabh Bhardwaj visit the Government Dispensary located in the High Court and arrange for some additional facilities required there. He cordially accepted the request and came to visit the Government Dispensary located in the High Court. During the inspection, Hon’ble Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva of the High Court, the President, and the Secretary of the Bar Association were also present.

Before coming to power, CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal had a vision that Delhi should have world-class healthcare. The Delhi Government hospitals are providing all types of treatments, all types of tests, and all types of medicines free of cost. Mohalla Clinics of Delhi are being praised across the country. Delhi Government is constantly monitoring the functioning of all the hospitals to run the healthcare system smoothly and systematically. In this series, Shri Saurabh Bhardwaj is continuously inspecting different hospitals of the Delhi Government. Wherever any complaint or deficiency of any kind is found in hospitals or dispensaries, action is taken with immediate effect. It is the priority of the Kejriwal Government to take care of the health of the people of Delhi and no negligence of any kind is tolerated in fulfilling this responsibility.

Health Minister Shri Saurabh Bhardwaj said, “When I came to inspect the High Court dispensary, Hon’ble High Court Justice Shri Sanjeev Sachdeva and the lawyers present there, highly appreciated the medical facilities being provided by the Delhi Government in the dispensary. Almost all types of tests and treatments are provided free of cost in the dispensary. Hon’ble Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva, while praising the doctors and other employees posted in the dispensary, said, “Staff is very hardworking and their conduct is very good. This is commendable. If any lawyer or other court staff faces any kind of health-related problem, it is treated with immediate effect in the dispensary.” He also said, “Physiotherapy facilities are also being given in the dispensary which is highly commendable. Along with him, other judges, lawyers, and staff of the court also appreciated the facilities provided in the dispensary.
*Lawyers demanded some more facilities in the dispensary*
Shri Saurabh Bhardwaj said that during the inspection, the High Court lawyers demanded some facilities in the dispensary which are as follows:
1) Increasing the staff in view of the increasing number of lawyers,
2) Replacing the old dental chair with a new one in the dental department,
3) Deploying ENT specialists in the dispensary,
4) Installing new machines in place of old X-ray and ultrasound machines,
5) Starting wax therapy in the physiotherapy department,
6) Starting a 24-hour helpline service for treatment in Loknayak Hospital,
7) Provide basic life support training to the High Court lawyers, just like training provided to the Supreme Court lawyers.
8) Computerized OPD registration in dispensaries etc.
Health Minister Shri Saurabh Bhardwaj said, “All the demands given by the High Court lawyers will be considered and we will try our best to provide all these facilities to the lawyers in the High Court as soon as possible.”

The Health Minister said, “There are four pillars of democracy of this country, one of which is the strong pillar of the justice system. The lawyers and judges of our country are running this justice system, due to which the citizen of the country can lead their lives without fear. Considering this, it is our responsibility to provide health care to all these lawyers and judges. He continued, “We will help all the judges by all means possible as they run the justice system in the courts of Delhi. We will also make adequate arrangements for the health care for the lawyers. In this context, we have focused on providing the best medical facilities in the hospitals in Delhi as well as in the dispensaries of the Delhi Government established in the Delhi High Court. He added, “We are very happy that all the Hon’ble judges and lawyers of the High Court are very satisfied with the medical arrangements being provided by the Delhi Government through the dispensary in the High Court. It will be our endeavor to continue improving the medical facilities made in the Delhi courts. There should be no shortcoming of any kind in the world-class medical care provided in dispensaries and hospitals.”
*A dental surgeon will be posted in the dispensary soon*
Shri Saurabh Bhardwaj said, “During the visit to the dispensary, some lawyers also put forward a demand for posting a dental surgeon in the dispensary. The lawyers said that it has been seen many times that if a person has a dental problem, then they have to go to a hospital outside the court premises. They said that all sorts of facilities are available in the dispensary and if one more dental surgeon is posted in the dispensary, they will be extremely grateful to the Delhi government. While assuring all those lawyers, Shri Saurabh Bhardwaj said, “We will take cognizance of this and will try our best to depute a dental surgeon in the High Court dispensary as soon as possible. Afterward, all the hon’ble judges, lawyers, and other employees can easily get treatment for dental diseases by coming to the dispensary.”

*New Delhi:*25.09.23-In a significant development, the Sarpanches and Pradhans (local village heads) of several villages in Jhajjar district, Haryana, met Transport Minister Shri Kailash Gahlot and requested him to extend the services of Delhi's state-of-the-art e-buses to the Jhajjar bus stand in Haryana. During the meeting, the village heads expressed their desire for the residents of Jhajjar district to benefit from the eco-friendly and efficient e-bus services pioneered by the Delhi Government
After the meeting, Transport Minister Shri Kailash Gahlot twitted "Today, Sarpanches and heads of different villages of Jhajjar district of Haryana visited my office and requested that the services of Delhi's state-of-the-art e-buses should be extended to Jhajjar Bus Stand in Haryana so that the people of Haryana can also benefit from Delhi's EV revolution. I have assured them that under the able leadership of Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal, the Delhi government will consider their demands ."
The representation led by Anurag Dhanda, Senior Vice President, Aam Admi Party-Haryana included Sarpanches and Pradhans including Sunil Gulia-khap pradhan 84, Pawan-Sarpanch of Dariyapur, Sukhdev-Sarpanch of Jahangirpur, Ramvir-Sarpanch of Kheri, Dharamvir- Sarpanch of Majri.
Earlier this year in January, the Delhi government had extended the Delhi Transport Corporation's (DTC) bus services between Najafgadh Terminal in Delhi to Aiims-Jhajjar (Badsa village) in Haryana. The services have proven beneficial to thousands of commuters, including patients and AIIMS staff, traveling daily between Delhi and Haryana. The buses currently ply between Najafgarh Terminal and AIIMS Jhajjar via the Daurala Border.
