Two arrested for consuming liquor at public place

Chandigarh Police arrested Gurjeet Singh R/o # 60, Village Kishangarh, Chandigarh (Age 22 Years) while they were consuming liquor at a public place and creating nuisance near Parking Regulator End, Sukhna Lake Chandigarh on 24-09-2023. A case FIR No. 75, U/s 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh. Later, they were bailed out.

Chandigarh Police arrested Harish Kumar R/o # 682/2, Small Flats, Dhanas Chandigarh (Age 42 Years) while they were consuming liquor at a public place and creating nuisance near Wine Shop, Sector-25 Chandigarh on 24-09-2023. A case FIR No. 159, U/s 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Later, they were bailed out.

Chandigarh Police arrested Vinod Kashyap R/o # 3022, Sector-20D, Chandigarh, Age 69 Years, Kanhaiya Lal R/o # 264, Sector-30-A, Chandigarh, Age 61 Years and Rohit R/o # 2773, Sector-20-C, Chandigarh, Age-54 years, while they were gambling at Park back side Azad Market, Sector-20, Chandigarh on 24-09-2023. Total cash Rs. 6580/- was recovered from their possession. In this regard, a case FIR No. 80, U/S 13-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh. Later they were released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Manoj R/o Village Chandoka, Distt. Pratapgarh UP, Age 54 Years, Dhurav Raj R/o # 264, Lahurigadhaliya, Distt. Amethi, UP, Age 45 Years, Suresh Kumar R/o # 292, BDC, Sector 26, Chandigarh, Age 40 years and Mahesh R/o Plot No. 214, Iron Market, Sector-29 Chandigarh, Age 40 years, while they were gambling at Park Iron Market, Sector-29 Chandigarh on 24-09-2023. Total cash Rs. 3270/- was recovered from their possession. In this regard, a case FIR No. 116, U/S 13-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh. Later they were released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Harpreet Singh R/o # 2527/1, Indira Colony, Mani Majra Chandigarh (Age-52 Years) while playing satta and recovered cash Rs. 10405/- from his possession near Post Office, Motor Market, Mani Majra, Chandigarh on 24-09-2023. A case FIR No. 113, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh. Later, he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Ram Lakhan R/o # 426, New Indira Colony, Mani Majra, Chandigarh (Age-32 Years) while playing satta and recovered cash Rs. 1160/- from his possession near Market, NIC, Mani Majra, Chandigarh on 24-09-2023. A case FIR No. 78, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-IT Park, Chandigarh. Later, he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Ajay Kumar R/o # 6509-B, Sector-56, Chandigarh (Age-38 Years) while playing satta and recovered cash Rs. 6720/- from his possession near Govt. School, Sector-56, Chandigarh on 24-09-2023. A case FIR No. 163, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Later, he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Ram Kumar R/o # 6528, Sector-56, Chandigarh (Age-54 Years) while playing satta and recovered cash Rs. 4880/- from his possession at backside of Market, Sector-38, Chandigarh on 24-09-2023. A case FIR No. 164, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Later, he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

In a major breakthrough, Chandigarh Police got a major success while acting against drug suppliers. As per direction of Sh. Ketan Bansal, IPS, SP/Crime& HQ, under supervision of DSP Crime Sh. Udaypal Singh, a team of ANTFlead by Inspector Satvinder nabbed a drug suppliernamely Mukesh Kumarand recovered 50 grams Heroin from his possession.

Brief Fact:-

On 22.9.2023police party headed by SI Baljit Singh was on Crime Control and prevention patrolling duty in the area ofPolice Station Maloya.While police team wasnear Mohali to Chandigarh road, incoming side opposite side PalsoraChownki, Chandigarh, on suspicion one personwas apprehended with the help police personnel.During search50 Grams Heroinwas recovered from his possession. On questioning he disclosed his nameMukesh Kumar S/o sh. Nathu Ram R/o #1433/28 Sector-29B, Chandigarh, aged 34 years.In this regard aCase FIR No. 114 Dt.22.9.2023 U/S 21 NDPS ACT PS-Maloya, UT Chandigarhregistered against him and investigation carried on.

Mukesh Kumar S/o Sh. Nathu Ram R/o #1433/28 Sector-29B, Chandigarh, aged 34 years

He had previously been arrested in 1) FIR No. 260/2019 u/s 380,457,411 IPC PS-IA and 2) FIR No. 177/2021 u/s 379,411 IPC PS-IA Chandigarh.

Modus Operandi:-

He is himself drug addict and used to purchase drug from Amritsar city & adjoining area and further use to sell/consume drug to consumers/addicts on high rate, thus earning easy money.

Accused Mukesh Kumar was produced before the Hon’ble District Court and police remand was obtained to ascertain the sources of origin of recovered contraband drugs and name of person (s), whom, it to be sell in tricity.

In a major breakthrough, Chandigarh Police got a major success while acting against the persons who appeared in the exams on the palace of actual candidate by taking huge money. As per direction of Sh. Ketan Bansal, IPS, SP/Crime & HQ, under supervision of DSP Crime Sh. Udaypal Singh, a team of Crime Branch lead by Insp. Ashok Kumar arrested two persons namely Naveen Kumar (Candidate) and Pawan Kumar (cheater), who appeared in the exams for the post of Junior Technician which was conducted on 30.4.2023 at Punjab University, Chandigarh.

Brief Facts

Sh. Dinesh Tandon, XEN, Electrical Division No.3, Sector-9, Chandigarh wherein filed a complaint alleging that from the perusal of record/information received from UIAMS, Panjab University, Chandigarh, it is found that some impersonation has been done by candidate Naveen Kumar in the examination to the post of Junior Technician.In this regards FIR No. 155 dated 13.9.2023 u/s 419,420,467,468,471,120B IPC PS-11, Chandigarh was registered.

Arrest of accuse:

Accused Pawan Kumar who had already been arrested by Haryana Police was brought on production warrant on 22.9.2023 and police remand was obtained. During remand accused Naveen Kumar was also arrested on 24.9.2023.

Modus operandi:-

Accused Pawan Kumar impersonated himself as candidate and appeared in the examination, he pasted his own photographs on the admit card, put his own finger prints as well as signature on attendant sheet. Before arrest he had appeared in 3 exams i.e. Delhi Police constable exam at Bikaner, SSC MTS exam at Patiala. Junior Technician in Electrical Division, Chandigarh.He has no certainty whether he will pass the examination or not, but charged Rs. 2 lacs each for Delhi Police ConstableExam and SSC MTS Exam and took Rs. 50,000/- in advance for appearing in exam of Junior Technician in Electrical Division, Chandigarh, but failed in this exam.

In a major breakthrough Chandigarh Police has achieved a major success by arresting one accused Harpreet Singh S/o Sh. Harjeet Singh R/o # 2527/1 Indira Colony, Mani Majra, Chandigarh Age 52 yrs in Gambling Act case.

On 24.9.23 ASI Suman Kumar 3495/CP PS-MM alongwith police party while performing the patrolling duty in the area of PS-MM. During patrolling duty when they reached near Tavern Ahata wine shop motor market, Manimajra they nabbed one person namely Harpreet Singh S/o Lt. Sh Harjeet Singh R/o # 2527/1 New Indira Colony, Manimajra Chandigarh Age 52 years from the said place while he was playing gambling at public place and recovered Cash Rs. 10405/-from his possession. Subsequently case FIR No. 113 dt. 24.9.23 u/s 13-A-3-67 G. Act. was registered against him.
