Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police arrested Gurcharan Singh @ Guri R/o # 3419-A, EWS Colony, Sector-56, Chandigarh (age-28 yrs) and recovered 20 gram heroine from his possession from near T-Point, Sector-39 CD Turn on 22-09-2023. A case FIR No. 160 U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Assault
Yogesh R/o # 2604, DMC Chandigarh alleged that Raj Kumar @ Mattri, Simon, Mani etc, they blocked the way of complainant and beaten/threatened him near swami tent house DMC on 21-09-2023. A case FIR No. 111, U/S 323, 341, 506, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Dowry
A lady resident of Chandigarh alleged that her husband resident of Mohali PB), Chandigarh harassed the complainant to bring more dowries. A case FIR No. 58, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Traffic Advisory regarding Nirankari Sant Samagam on 24.09.2023 at Exhibition Ground, Sector-34, Chandigarh Keeping in view of the Nirankari Sant Samagam on 24.09.2023 at Exhibition Ground Sector-34, Chandigarh, the general public coming to Chandigarh or to attend the said event is hereby advised to strictly adhere to the following Do’s & Don’ts to reach at Exhibition Ground Sector 34, Chandigarh to avoid any traffic congestion:- Do’s and Don’ts:- 1. No Parking/No pick or Drop shall be allowed from Sector 33/34 Light Point to till New Labour Chowk (20/21/33/34 Chowk). 2. Entry to the specified parking shall be allowed. 3. No exit at cut opposite Polka Bakery, Sector-34. 4. General public coming to Samagam is advised to park their vehicles in the designated parking lots only. No vehicle will be allowed to be parked on the road/cycle track/footpaths. Violators will be prosecuted as per traffic rules. 5. General public must reach within time in advance as scheduled to avoid any inconvenience. 6. Since large gathering of public is expected to witness the Nirankari Sant Samagam, general public is requested to maintain calm and cooperate with the police officials deployed at and around the venue. 7. General Public is advised not to drink and drive. If any found, strict action will be taken as per M.V Act. 8. General public is advised to do carpooling or to use taxi/cabs to reach the Samagam as it will reduce traffic volume as well as beneficial for the environment. 9. General public is advised to follow the proper/conversion traffic routes at the time of dispersal also to avoid traffic congestion. 10.Any person indulging in any hooliganism or any kind of activity disturbing public, law and order or security breach shall be dealt with strictly as per law. 11. The General public is advised to avoid Sector 33/34 Dividing Road and Sector 34/35 Dividing Road, if they are visiting Sectors other than Sector 34, Chandigarh. 12. Apni Mandi scheduled in Sector-34 will be in Sector-46 Chandigarh on Sunday i.e 24.09.2023. Further, traffic movement may be restricted/diverted at certain roads stretches in view of the Nirankari Sant Samagam respectively. The movement of any person requiring medical attention, emergency vehicles and hearse van will be facilitated. Chandigarh Traffic Police appeals to the general public to cooperate with the police and inconvenience caused to the general public on account of these restrictions is regretted.

“Samvedna Camp" an 'Integrated Grievances Redressal mechanism' was organized at all police stations/units and Traffic Lines Sector-29, Chandigarh
Today, a “Samvedna Camp" an 'Integrated Grievances Redressal mechanism' was organized at all police stations/units and Traffic Lines Sector-29, Chandigarh to check the status of their cases, complaints and traffic challans from 10 AM to 2 PM. The objective of these schemes is to provide easily accessible and speedy machinery for the redressal of grievances of general public as well as to bring transparency and accountability in police functioning. Implementation of these directives on a sustained basis would go a long way in creating confidence in public. During the campaign, total 566 persons visited the Police Stations and units and Traffic Lines, under Samvedna Camp. Total 706 complaints were disposed off during Public Grievances Redressal Camp. The SDPO’s and concerned DSP’s personally supervised the campaign. SDPOs of each sub-division also reviewed the process personally by spending adequate time at police stations of their sub-division. The facts of complaints were discussed with complainants. During the meeting a healthy interaction was made between police and public. During the camp problems/issues were discussed and instructions/directions regarding these have been issued to concerned Police officials/Beat staff to comply with accordingly. The Samvedna Camp was started on 15.04.2023 with the initiative of Sh. Praveer Ranjan, IPS, Director General of Police, UT, Chandigarh to dispose off the complaints and the redressal grievances of general public.
