Chandigarh,18.09.23-The inauguration ceremony of 7 Days SpecialNSS Camp was held at Government College of Education, Sector 20D, Chandigarh today. The program functions under the motto “Not me but you” in full spirit.

The program had as Esteemed Guests Ms. Bhawna Garg, IAS, Deputy Director General (DDG), Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) under the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Ms. Anindita Mitra, IAS, Commissioner Municipal Corporation, Sector-17, Chandigarh and Dr. Nemi Chand, NSS State Liaison Officer, Department of Education, U.T. Chandigarh.

The program was initiated with the College Anthem, lamp lightening ceremony and chanting of Shabad, followed by the formal welcome of the dignitaries by Dr. Sapna Nanda, Principal of the college and formal introduction of the guests. Dr. Ravneet Chawla, NSS Program Incharge of the college introduced the layout of the 7 days NSS program to the guests and the audience. College NSS Newsletter was released on the occasion. It is a first of its kind initiative to document NSS work. Dr. Ravneet Chawla has developed the newsletter under the patronship of the Principal of the college.

Ms. Bhawna Garg delivered her keynote address, shedding light on the importance of community service and its impact on society. She also emphasized the importance of knowing oneself first and indulging completely in whatever task is one into.

Ms. Anindita Mitra through her vast knowledge and experience in public service provided invaluable insights and inspiration to the students and motivated them as would be teachers to focus on developing good citizens that may contribute towards the progress of the society.

Dr. Nemi Chand also addressed the students, highlighting the goals and objectives of the NSS program. He encouraged the students to actively participate in the program and utilize this opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
