Women & Child Development Department bagged the Gold Skoch Award for “Mukhya Mantri Doodh Uphar Yojna”
Chandigarh, June 2 – Haryana Women & Child Development Department bagged the highest independent honour with the Gold Skoch Award for “Mukhya Mantri Doodh Uphar Yojna. An award ceremony was organized by the SKOCH group for National award winners on May 27, 2023 at Nalanda Hall, Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi. The selection of the award has been based on the interactions and assessment of works by a panel of experts.
Giving more information in this regard, an official spokesperson said that the Mukhya Mantri Doodh Uphar scheme was launched by Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal on August 5, 2020 with an objective to improve the health and nutritional status of children & mothers as well as to improve the attendance of children.
He informed that the fortified skimmed milk is being provided to the beneficiaries in addition to the supplementary nutrition under ICDS from the state funds. Each beneficiary is being provided with 200 ml of reconstituted milk per day for 300 days in a year. Milk is a complete food in itself which is a rich source of protein, calories and micronutrients including magnesium, calcium etc which helps in improving the health & nutritional status of children.
He further stated that approximately 9 lakhs children below the age of 6 years and 3 lakhs pregnant and lactating mothers are benefitted every month. The scheme has given a boost not only in the expansion of the number of beneficiaries but also improved the nutritional status of parameters.
The scheme is a path breaker to serve the vulnerable section of the society and change the outlook of rural Haryana.

Animal husbandry and dairy sector an important contributor in Haryana: J P Dalal
Animal Husbandry and Dairying Minister participates in two-day Summer Meet on occasion of World Milk Day celebration at Srinagar
Highlights contribution of animal husbandry and dairy sector along with endeavours of state government
Chandigarh, June 2: Haryana Animal Husbandry and Dairying Minister, Sh. J P Dalal said that animal husbandry business has been an important contributor in the state. He said that the state houses 2.1 percent of the country’s total livestock capacity and produces 116.29 lakh tonnes of milk, which is 5.26 percent of the country's total milk production.
Sh. JP Dalal said this while addressing during the two-day Summer Meet organized for Animal Husbandry and Dairy Sector on the occasion of World Milk Day celebration at SKICC, Srinagar; in which 16 ministers of different states and UTs participated. Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Sh. Parshottam Rupala presided over the event, in the presence of Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor, Sh. Manoj Sinha.
Expressing gratitude to the Union Minister for organizing this event, Sh. JP Dalal said that exchange of ideas during the two-day Summer Meet will help in identifying new viable strategies for upgrading various aspects related to animal husbandry and livestock sector, productivity in dairy sector along with processing and value addition.
During the summit, all the states were sensitized on various initiatives and schemes of the Central Government and the suggestions and initiatives of different states were discussed with concerned state ministers.
Sh. J P Dalal highlighted the contribution of animal husbandry and dairy sector in the state by sharing production data, besides discussion on initiatives like vaccination services; mobile veterinary vans and setting up of a call centre for its operation, and other endeavours of the state government.
During the meet, the Haryana Animal Husbandry and Dairying Minister also placed a demand of providing dewormers and mineral mixtures during the time of vaccine of the cattle. He also exhorted to strengthen the veterinary diagnostics, besides providing bulk milk coolers to individual farmers also for processing of milk; as being given to the dairy cooperatives.
Director General, Haryana Animal Husbandry and Dairying department, Dr. BS Laura, Special Secretary, Sh. Jaibir Singh Arya, along with other officers of the department also accompanied the minister.
Union Ministers of State, Sh. Sanjeev Kumar Balyan, Dr L. Murugan, Secretary, Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (GoI), Ms. Alka Upadhyaya, ministers from different states and UTs along with senior officers were also present during the event.

Now MGNREGA workers will get Rs. 357/- daily wages in Haryana
Chandigarh, June 2 - The Central Government has increased wage rates under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGA) for the 2023-24 financial year with Haryana having the highest daily wage at Rs. 357 per day.
Giving more information in this regard, a government spokesperson said that the central and state governments are always striving for the rights of laborers and workers. He said that the Central Government has presented a huge gift to the MGNREGA workers.
This will directly accelerate rural development. Many development works related to rural development are done by the government under the MGNREGA scheme by providing employment to poor families, he added.
He informed that the labourers working under MNREGA in Haryana state will now get Rs. 357 per day. He informed that the daily wage for the workers working in MNREGA of Haryana state has been increased by Rs. 26 by the Ministry of Rural Development. Earlier, MNREGA workers were being given Rs. 331 per day in Haryana.

Haryana issues a priority list of projects to be undertaken by Municipalities and State Government in the Municipal areas of the state
The projects executed under Divya Nagar Scheme will be taken up on sharing basis
ULB issues notification in this regard
Chandigarh, June 2- Haryana government today has issued the priority list of projects to be undertaken by Municipalities and State government in the Municipal areas of the state. Besides this, as per the directions of the Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal all the municipalities and concerned authorities while planning or approving any projects shall consider the priority of the project as per the issued priority list.
Sharing more details in this regard, a spokesman of the Urban Local Bodies Department said that a notification in this regard has been issued by the department. For the revenue generating projects like construction of multi level parking and construction of bank square, commercial complex and shopping complex, will be executed as per the revenue-earning scheme of municipalities where loan-based funding can be obtained or facilitated by the State Government shared the spokesperson.
Respective municipalities can implement 32 projects out of grants/funds at their disposal
The spokesperson shared that as per the notification, 32 projects are to be implemented by the respective municipalities out of grants/funds at their disposal. These include works pertaining to construction and maintenance of roads, construction of new tubewells, construction of night shelters, maintenance of water supply, maintenance of public toilets, road sweeping and cleaning , door to door collection, segregation, transportation and processing of solid waste, installation/operation/maintenance of traffic signals, repair of street lights, maintenance of sewerage/storm water/water works/tube wells (where water supply and sewerage responsibility vests with the municipal corporation), construction & demolition projects, repair/maintenance of samshan ghats, repair/maintenance of municipal office building, community centre, maintenance/cleaning of ponds, major repair of roads maintained by ULB with road width upto 18 meter, repair/maintenance of parks/green spaces, repair/maintenance of projects executed under Divya Nagar scheme, construction of gaushala/nandi shala, laying water supply lines with pipe size upto 12" (where water supply and sewerage responsibility vests with the municipal corporation), installation of new street light, laying of sewerage system with pipe size upto 12" (where water supply and sewerage, responsibility vests with the municipal corporation), laying of new storm water lines with pipe size upto 400 mm diameter, construction of new streets/roads, development of parks, rejuvenation of ponds, construction of community centre, plantation.
For 10 major projects to be funded by the state government
The spokesperson shared that 10 projects have been listed that are to be implemented by or on behalf of the State Government out of funds to be provided by the State Government. These include the construction of municipal office buildings, construction and major repair of major roads (exceeding 18 meters in width) if sufficient funds are not available with ULB, construction of water Treatment Plants, construction of Bulk Water Transmission System And Boosting Stations, construction of intermediate pumping stations for sewerage disposals and master sewerage line upto STPs, construction of STPs/CETPs, construction of water supply lines with pipe size above 12" if sufficient funds are not available with the ULB, construction of sewerage with pipe size above 12" if sufficient funds are not available with the ULB, construction of stormwater lines with pipe size above 400 mm diameter if sufficient funds are not available with the ULB and construction of road flyover/rob/underpass.
The projects executed under Divya Nagar Scheme will be taken up on sharing basis
The spokesperson further shared that the projects that are to be implemented under Divya Nagar Scheme will be taken up on sharing basis.
The percentage sharing in regard is that in the case of Municipal Corporation the project sharing will be 50 percent by the State Government and 50 percent by the Municipal Corporation. In the case of the Municipal Council the sharing will be 65 percent by the State Government and 35 percent by the Municipal Council. In the case of the Municipal Committee the sharing will be 75 percent by the State Government and 25 percent by the Municipal Committee.
The list of projects under the Divya Nagar Scheme includes tourist infrastructure, development of sports infrastructure, city parks and green spaces city beautification, redesign and beautification of road junction, integrated control and command-based infrastructure, energy efficient smart light system with CCMS, installation of electric/gas crematorium, development of social and cultural infrastructure such as auditorium, open-air theatres and technology-based intervention in municipal governance.
