CHANDIGARH,29.03.23-T.S.Central State Library, Chandigarh in association with Rhyvers Publishing organized a three-day workshop on creative writing from 27th to 29th March, 2023. The children were encouraged to try different genres like poetry, story writing, blog writing, etc.

Affan Yesvi, Director Rhyvers Publishing while speaking on the occasion laid emphasis on the importance of reading and writing at a young age. He encouraged the children to explore new dimensions of themselves through creative writing and give wings to their imagination.

Dr Neeza Singh, the librarian said that workshops like these are essential for the overall development of children, she further stated that more such workshops would be held in the future to invite the creative spark in students.

There were four resource persons for the workshop. Dr. Sonika Sethi, Dr.Deviyani Singh, Navneet Grewal, and Dr.Paratiba Jindal.
Dr. Sonika Sethi through her interactive presentations discussed the art of story-telling and the nuances of blog writing. Various activities and hands-on practice exercises were organized to encourage the children to come up with out-of-the-box creative ideas.

Navneet Garewal spoke about creative wiring and conducted some creative writing exercises for the children.
Dr. Deviyani Singh discussed how children could play around with various kinds of plots for wiring a story. She also conducted an activity around stories for children. She shared her experience of writing stories and discussed various ways to approach a storyline.
Dr. Pratiba Jindal did a laughter exercise with the kids.

The worship was attended by students from various schools of the city in the age group of 7- 14 years. The children thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and demanded that more such workshops should be organized for them from time to time.
