Bathinda, March 29-The Consultancy Cell of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda organized a Two-Days Workshop on “Energy Audit and Green Practices” which concluded on Wednesday evening at University auditorium.

The workshop was sponsored by Punjab State Council for Science & Technology (PSCST) for Environment Education Programme under Mission LiFE, Govt. of India. More than 80 participants from various institutes of Bathinda region such as Central University of Punjab, SSD Girls College and Baba Farid College of Engineering & Technology including participants of University Main Campus and Giani Zail Singh Campus College of Engineering & Technology-MRSPTU attended this workshop.

The purpose of this workshop was to identify, quantify, describe and prioritize framework of Environment Sustainability in compliance with the applicable regulations, policies and standards.

The platform provided an opportunity for participants to clarify queries about existing operational practices and adopting energy efficiency measures. In addition, case study on “Energy Audit & Green Practices” conducted by expert team was also presented.

Program Coordinator, Dr. Ashish Baldi informed that MRSPTU is organizing about 25 events in the category of awareness campaign, workshops, competitions and exhibition on various themes identified under Environment Education Program in Mission LiFE by Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.

University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Buta Singh Sidhu said that Mission Life (Lifestyle for Environment) is launched recently by Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi as an India led global mass movement to nudge individual and community action to protect and preserve environment.

Prof. (Dr.) Sanjiv Kumar Agarwal, Campus Director, GZSCCET-MRSPTU, Bathinda highlighted the importance of such workshops in real life. Sh. Rakesh Nayyar, Senior Environmental Engineer, Punjab Pollution Control Board, Bathinda delivered his talk on various issues related to environment and their possible solutions. He covered topics related to environment pollution, noise pollutions, solid waste and its management.
