Chandigarh, March 25 - Haryana Information, Public Relations, Language and Culture Department has been conferred with the 'Award of Appreciation' for eGovernance at the 20th Computer Society of India-Special Interest Group (CSI-SIG) eGovernance Awards 2022 by the Central Government at New Delhi today.
This award honoured under 'Project Category' was received by the Deputy Director, Smt. Urvashi Rangara on behalf of the department. Smt. Rangara informed that the award has been conferred for the initiative of "Online Release Order and Billing System" launched by the department for the advertisements released by the media houses.
Principal Secretary, Information, Public Relations, Language and Culture Department, Sh. Anurag Agarwal, and Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and Director General of the Department, Dr. Amit Agrawal expressed happiness on receiving the prestigious award and said that the credited for this special honour goes to the team work led by the employees of the department to realize the vision of eGovernance as envisioned by the Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal.
Dr. Amit Agrawal said that about three and half years ago, the Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal took a major initiative of introducing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software to bring transparency and efficiency in the entire process of government advertisements issued to media houses. Advertisement payments have become easier by launching this software. The entire process was digitized to bring transparency and expedite the work.
Dr. Agrawal said that various 'in house' programmes were developed by the state government even during the COVID-19 pandemic and ERP was one of them. He informed that the special feature of ERP software is that it has been developed completely 'in-house' in collaboration with NIC.
