One arrested in theft case
Paras R/o # 18, Sector-10A Chandigarh reported that unknown Umesh Kumar R/o # 48, Golden Enclave Gate No.1, Adarsh Nagar Naya Gaon (Pb) (age- 42 yrs) who try to stole away cycle from complainant’s house but caught red handed on 17-03-2023. A case FIR No. 20, U/S 379, 411 IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
One arrested in Snatching case
Parveen Kumar R/o Village Badi Karor, Nayagaon Distt Mohali (Pb) reported that unknown motor cycle rider who snatched away his mobile phone from near PEC Sector-12, Chandigarh on 15-03-2023. During the course of investigation accused Narinder Singh @ Navi R/o Village Bahalpur Taprion Thesil Kharar Distt. SAS Nagar Mohali (Pb) (age-24 yrs) has been arrested. A case FIR No. 47 U/S 379-A, IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Two arrested for possessing illicit liquor in different cases
Chandigarh Police arrested Tejinder Kumar (age-30 years) R/o VPO Anni, Distt. Kullu (HP) and recovered 13 boxes of Royal Stag whisky from his possession along with his mahindra pickup no. HP-35-6074 near Dana Mandi Sector-26, Chandigarh on 17-03-2023. A case FIR No. 35 U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Later he bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Chandigarh Police arrested Roshan Singh (age-44 years) R/o # 3 Village Behlana, Chandigarh and recovered 14 bottles of country made liquor from his possession near Raman Gas Agency, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh on 17-03-2023. A case FIR No. 36 U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Later he bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.
One arrested for consuming liquor at public place
Chandigarh Police arrested Ashish Manchanda R/o # 2199 Sector-19C, Chandigarh while he was consuming liquor and created nuisance from parking near Azad Market, Sector-20, Chandigarh on 17.03.2023. A case FIR No. 12, U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act & 510 IPC has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh. He was later bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Burglary
Vikram Singh R/o # 25, Sector-9A, Chandigarh reported that unknown person who stolen away cash Rs. 50000/- after broken Almira lock from complainant’s house on night intervening 17/18-03-2023. A case FIR No. 19, U/S 380, 457 IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Dowry Death
A case FIR No. 84, U/S 304B, 498A, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh on the complaint of Pintu R/o Village Hardevan Khera, PS-Balamau, Distt. Hardoi, (UP), (age-32 yrs) who alleged that Amit (husband) and other-in-laws of her sister R/o # 509, Village Kajheri, Sector-52, Chandigarh harassed complainant’s sister (age-20 yrs) to bring more dowries and she commit suicide on 15.03.2023. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A special checking drive as per order of Senior Officers was conducted by Chandigarh Police at IT Park, Chandigarh ahead of forthcoming G-20 meeting in the city.
CHANDIGARH,18.03.2023-A special checking drive as per order of Senior Officers was conducted by Chandigarh Police at IT Park, Chandigarh ahead of forthcoming G-20 meeting in the city. The drive was carried out in the supervision of SDPO, North-East alongwith SHO-I.T Park, SHO- Mani Majra and SHO- Mauli Jagran with a force of 75 police personnel from Sub-Division North-East, and other units of Chandigarh Police. The entire force had assembled at Police Station IT Park, Chandigarh at 10.00 AM and was briefed by the SDPO/North-East & SHO/PS-IT Park. The entire area of New Indira Colony, Mani Majra & Subash Nagar, Mani Majra were got cordoned off and Local police placed check posts /nakas. A total of 10 different police teams were constituted for proper verification and 6 outer police check points were laid. During the checking drive 21 suspicious persons were rounded up out of which 8 were BC, 3 repeated offender, 6 jail released and 4 are suspects. The particulars of the suspects were noted down and Information sheets are being sent to their native police stations for verification of addresses and previous antecedents. During the checking, action under section 110 Cr.P.C was recommended against 4 habitual offenders/history sheeters and report in the matter is being sent to the SDM/East. During the said drive a total of 13 vehicles have been challaned and 14 vehicles impounded for various violations and 10 doubtful vehicles brought in Police Station for verification. The drive was carried out in a synchronized manner from 11.00 AM to 02:00 PM under the supervision of SDPO/Norht-East. During the drive, a thorough search of suspected vehicles and persons was conducted while ensuring minimum inconvenience to the general public.
