One arrested for possessing illegal liquor

Chandigarh Police arrested Gurwinder Singh R/o # 3909 Ward No. 09 Railway Road Himayupur Sirhind Distt-Fatehgarh Sahib (Pb) (age 28 yrs) while he was illegally possessing 130 boxes of English liquor from his possession in pick up No. PB10-FF- 6404 near Buterla Gate, Sector-41 Chandigarh on 14-03-2023. A case FIR No. 38, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-391, Chandigarh. Later he was released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against Gambling

Distt. Crime Cell of Chandigarh Police arrested a lady resident of Sector-26, Chandigarh, (age-27 yrs), while he was playing satta near #726/30, BDC, Sector-26 Chandigarh on 15-03-20233. Total cash Rs. 13700/- was recovered from her possession. A case FIR No. 33, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Later, he was released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Suresh Kumar R/o #23, Sector-17, Panchkula (Hry), (age-44 yrs) and Gorakh Singh R/o Gali No. 02, Budhanpur, Distt. Panchkula (Hry), while they were playing satta from Shivalik Manimajra on 15-03-2023. Total cash Rs. 4100/- was recovered from their possession. A case FIR No. 11, U/S 13-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-Manimajra, Chandigarh. Later, he was released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Distt. Crime Cell of Chandigarh Police arrested Manoj R/o # 1047, Morigate Manimajra, (age-41 yrs), while he was playing satta from Civil Hospital Manimajra backside on 15-3-2023. Total cash Rs. 10630/- was recovered from his possession. A case FIR No. 12 U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-Manimajra, Chandigarh. Later, he was released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One arrested under NDPS Act

Chandigarh Police arrested Mohd. Paliv R/o # 244/3, Gali no. 04, Shanti Nagar, Manimajra Chandigarh (Age-24 Years) and recovered 5.2 gram heroin from his possession near Bus stand on 15-03-2023. A case FIR No. 13 U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-Manimajra, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Four arrested for consuming liquor at public place

Chandigarh Police arrested Alok Bhatt R/o # 1105/F, Sector-19, Distt. Panchkula (Hry) (age-40 yrs) and Daljit Singh R/o # 2142/1, Sector-37/C, Chandigarh (age-32 yrs) while consuming liquor at public place and create nuisance near backside SCO no. 30, Grain Market, Sector-26, Chandigarh on 15-03-2023. A case FIR No. 31, U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Later they were bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Sarwan Kumar R/o Booth No. 02, TPT, Area Sector-26, Chandigarh, (age-29 yrs) while consuming liquor at public place and create nuisance near his booth on 15-03-2023. A case FIR No. 32, U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Later on, he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Balram Sharma R/o #283 Charan Singh Colony Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh, (age-40 yrs) while consuming liquor at public place and create nuisance from SCO no. 916, NAC Mauli Jagran side on 15-03-2023. A case FIR No. 30, U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh. Later he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One arrested in theft case

Chandigarh Police arrested Sonu Kumar R/o near Dispensary Village Kajheri, Sector-52, Chandigarh (age-27 yrs), from Vita Booth Sector-48 on 15-03-2023 along with hero Splender Plus Motorcycle no PB65-X-4252, which was wanted in case E-FIR No. 154, u/s 379 IPC PS-34, Chandigarh.
