Two arrested under NDPS Act
Chandigarh Police arrested Munish Kumar @ Moni R/o # 1440/21, Sector-29, Chandigarh (Age-38 year) and recovered 06 gm heroin from his possession near Circus Ground Parking, Sector-17, Chandigarh on 23-01-2023. A case FIR No. 11, U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Chandigarh Police arrested Chander Bhan @ Madhu R/o Village-Rampur Seuri, Distt-Panchkula (HR) (Age-32 year) and recovered 12.50 gm heroin from his possession near Kishangarh Chowk, Chandigarh on 23-01-2023. A case FIR No. 03, U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-IT Park, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Theft
A case FIR No. 12, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh on the complaint of Ashish Pathaniya R/o # 3325, Dhanas, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away complainant’s mobile phone from GH-16, Chandigarh on 07.01.2023. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Assault/Quarrel
A case FIR No. 03, U/S 323, 324 IPC has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh on the statement of Charandeep Singh R/o # 167, Village-Mauli, Chandigarh who alleged that unknown person stabbed complainant’s friend Sandeep R/o # 61, Bashu Bibba, Distt-Panchkula (HR) (Age 26 Years) near Wine Shop, Kala Gram light point, Mani Majra, Chandigarh on 23.01.2023. He got injured and admitted in GMCH-32, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Case registered against persons failed to appear in Court
A case FIR No. 44 U/S 174-A IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh on the orders of the Hon’ble court of Sh. Tarun Kumar, JMIC UT, Chandigarh against Kaushal Verma R/o # 08, Vaishno Dham, Meerut (UP) who was declared PO by the Hon’ble court court but did not appeared before the Hon’ble Court in pursuance of issuance of the proclamation. Investigation of the case is in progress.
A case FIR No. 45 U/S 174-A IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh on the orders of the Hon’ble court of Sh. Tarun Kumar, JMIC UT, Chandigarh against Rama Shankar Sharma R/o Plot No. 11-12, Shivpuri Colony, Yamuna Nagar (HR) who was declared PO by the Hon’ble court but did not appeared before the Hon’ble Court in pursuance of issuance of the proclamation. Police Advisory for Republic Day-2023
In view of the Republic Day Function at Parade Ground Sector 17, Chandigarh, the following traffic restrictions/diversions shall be in place on 26.1.2023:-
Traffic Advisory:-
- The following road stretches around Parade Ground, Sector 17 shall remain closed from 6:30 AM onwards on 26.1.2023 till the time the function at the Parade Ground gets over:-
a. From roundabout of Sector 16/17/22/23 upto Gurdial Singh Petrol Pump, Sector 22-A on Udyog Path.
b. From Old District Court, Sector 17 upto Shivalik Hotel on the backside of Parade Ground, Sector 17.
c. From Lyon’s Restaurant Light Point near MC Office Sector 17 upto Parade Ground.
- No general parking shall be allowed in the parking area in front of shops in market of Sector 22-A from 6:30 AM onwards till the function gets over.
- Special invitees having authorized Car Parking Labels are requested to approach Parade Ground, Sector 17 from the roundabout of sector 16/17/22/23 (Cricket Stadium Chowk) on Udyog Path and park their vehicles in the parking area in front of the market of Sector 22-A.
- General public is requested to approach Parade Ground, Sector 17 either from ISBT Sector 17 Chowk or from 17/18 Light Point side.
- The general public is requested to park its vehicles in the following designated parking lots :-
a. Parking area of Sector 22-B
b. Circus Ground, Sector 17
c. Parking area adjacent Neelam Cinema, Sector 17
d. Multi-story parking, Sector 17
Buses coming towards ISBT Sector 17 shall be diverted towards ISBT Chowk Sector 17 from Kissan Bhawan Chowk and Piccadilly Chowk via Himalaya Marg & shall reach ISBT Sector 17 from Small Chowk (near Gurdial Singh Petrol Pump).
- Further, in order to de-congest this area at the time of dispersal, traffic shall be diverted away from ISBT Sector 17 Chowk on Udyog Path by diverting traffic coming from 17/18 Light Point, Aroma Light Point, Sector 18/19/20/21 chowk and Cricket Stadium Chowk for half an hour i.e. from 11.30 AM to 12.15 PM. Further, at the time of dispersal, only buses will be allowed to ply on this stretch.
Note: Road users are, therefore, advised to make use of alternative routes during the timings given above. Inconvenience caused to the general public on account of these restrictions is regretted. General public is requested to cooperate with the police.
Security Advisory:-
1. Invitees are requested to be seated latest by 9:15 AM at the Parade Ground, Sector 17, Chandigarh.
2. Special invitees/attendees are requested to enter Parade Ground from Gate Nos. 4, 6 & 7 i.e. opposite Sector 22 side, Chandigarh.
3. General public is requested to enter Parade Ground from Gate No. 8, 9 & 10 i.e. opposite ISBT Sector 17, Chandigarh.
4. Media persons are requested to enter Parade Ground from Gate No. 5 i.e. opposite Sector 22 side, Chandigarh.
5. All attendees are requested to carry an original photo ID card.
6. Special invitees are requested to prominently display the authorized “Parking Label” on the windscreen of their vehicles and carry invitation card.
7. All attendees are requested not to bring any objectionable articles such as bag, match box, knife, cigarette, weapon, liquor, inflammable items, electronic devices, black flag, banners/posters, etc.
8. All attendees are requested to remain seated in the designated sector till the function gets over and then disperse in an orderly manner.
